Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around perfect pack for short or long trips. Hiking, camping, or backpacking - PERFECT! As an avid world traveler, mountain biker, scuba diver, backpacker, photographer, and adventure/outdoor ethusist, I am always on the go. I've owned two Redwings over the past 7 years. I've used the redwing on day trips to backpacking in India and Peru for 3 1/2 week trips. This pack is easily the best pack I have ever owned. The main compartment is huge. I even packed mask, fins, snorkel along with all my clothes for a two week trip to the Red Sea. The front pockets, and side pockets are perfect for quick access storage, and the side sinch straps are perfect for compacting the pack, or securing additional clothing, or equipement (jackets/boots/other).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack I purchased the 3500 series in 2010 for school and carried 50 lbs of books 2 miles a day. The internal frame and spine support made it a walk in the park. This pack quickly replaced my day pack, and since then has been used on road trips, camping trips, and of course hikes. This pack has room for two days gear and rations if you pack light, is hydration compatible and the internal frame makes it easy to load without having to repack for weight distribution. The waist belt allows for complete adjustment for any amount of pack load ( the most I carried was 70 lbs of camp gear ) The pack has held up amazingly well considering all the abuse it has endured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy This pack is great. it's basically supposed to be a roomy daypack. And it is great for that. However, I have used this pack for trips in the wilderness up to 4 days and had no problems. The MOLLE set up on the bottom of the bag is perfect for a sleeping bag, while the straps on the top can hold down a sleeping pad. With this set up, the entire inside compartment has enough space for clothes, food, stove,etc..I have found the strong loops on the back of the pack to be useful, especially when paired with caribiners. Lastly, the pack is very comfortable and contours to your spine very well--super easy to walk and scramble with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Pack This pack is great. The main compartment is HUGE and, depending on how you pack, you can get anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 nights out of this thing. The side pockets have velcrow that pulls apart to make a flow pocket that can carry an umbrella, hatchet, or tent poles. The bottom has a daisy chain to attach more gear to. It is comfortable and seems to be durable. This thing is equipped to make it easy to get the most for your money. I suggest this for anyone who wants a pack that isn't quite a "backpackers" backpack that is large and not able to be a carry-on on a plane, but wants something that is bigger than a daypack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Pack Overall this is a pretty good pack. I got it as a first backpacking pack a couple years ago, and it has held up pretty great. Make sure you know what its for, and that is not a week log trip with 47 pounds. I made that mistake, and it was not comfortable at all. It is big enough and has enough lash points for me to fit all of my gear on the inside and out, and there are lots of pockets for organization. A very good weekend, light weight pack, but not for heavy loads, that's my fault, not Kelty's. Overall, a very good, comfortable for light loads, durable pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't let a friend borrow it because you'll never get it back I loved mine, but made the mistake of letting a friend who shall remain nameless, Dolan, borrow it for a trip. He decided that he liked it so much that he would just keep it. A knife fight ensued, but the pack remained with my friend. I miss it. That friend is dead to me. Its a great 1-2 daytripper. Just big enough to fit the essentials without getting too big and heavy. I'd buy another one, but I'm still holding out hope that mine will one day find its way back to me so that we can live happily ever after.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack with plenty of room for short trips. Bought this for a cruise last year and used it on every stop in the Caribbean. Pack sits nicely on my back and is not so heavy. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a good day pack. Has enough room for a couple of changes or clothes plus plenty of storage in the pockets for food, water and whatever else you may need to bring along.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only backpack that does everything I have purchased 3 Redwings to date, one of which was stolen from me, they are indestructible, super comfy to wear, easy organization with pouches and easy to manipulate with numerous loops. If you can only have one backpack get this one and proceed to live without regret!
