This backpack was a great investment. Well made and provides great support.I bought this backpack to lug my 5 month old (21 pounder) around town and on hikes. I figured since he didn't like to sit in the stroller all the time it would be great, and it gives him a good view over my shoulders. Plus it provides an advantage to places the stroller can't go. I have used it a few times so far and he loves it. He also falls asleep in it every time (which is good for us). It has a lot of space to hold baby items and anything we need to take with us. We are planning on using it when we fly later in the year since we can use it as a carry on.,,,,This backpack is well worth the price!!
What age/size of children will this carry safely? The specs noted a 40 lb limit, but I was wondering how adjustable the harnesses are for children just a few months old.

Hiya, thanks for the question!
First of all, the 40 pound maximum weight limit includes the total weight load, (the child, gear and pack).
Second, there is no recommended size or age. Your baby can fit in this pack as long as he or she can hold their head up and weighs 16 pounds.
The fit is determined by the weight of child. The child weight limit is a minimum of 16 pounds and maximum of 30 pounds.
If you need something bigger, the Kelty Pathfinder 3.0 Kid Carrier has a weight range of 16 to 40 pounds.

Hope this helps!
