The Keen Men's Targhee II Mid Waterproof Shoe is a hiking boot with ankle support for unpredictable terrain. When you start your hiking trip, the path you embark upon often doesn't look quite as neat and packed in the middle as it does at the beginning or end. The aggressive, rubber outsole underfoot will help you through these troubled times, as will the mid-height upper of leather and textile. Hidden inside is a KEEN.DRY™ waterproof/breathable membrane, so feet stay dry through unexpected rain, snow, and trampling across shallow creeks. Durable and ready to help you out on the trails, this 17.4 ounce shoe is ready for fun in nature.

First Keens that I actually enjoy.I can't stand normal Keen sandals. I always seem to get more sand, dirt, rocks and water stuck in the bottom of my foot for me to really enjoy them. Needless to say, I was VERY skeptical before buying a pair of their boots. I guess they do everything that I wanted out of a pair of boots (waterproof, keeps my feet warm, etc.), but sometimes my heels are sore after wearing them for a long time. I've peaked a couple of different mountains with them and the dogs are usually barking by the time I get home, but they hold up well and have been good for the most part.,,,,I wouldn't take this on a multi-day trip, just little day hikes.

Great shoe, but warm. These are great shoes. They're very comfortable, with great arch support, and they've proven to be very durable as well.,,,,They have good ankle support for "mids' too. More than once I've twisted an ankle on loose rocks or whatever and felt that the damage done was less then it might have been thanks to these shoes.,,,,The only downside is that they are hot in warm weather. The Keen Voyageurs aren't as good as the Targhee II in most ways, but they do offer way better venting.,,,,I also love the plastic lace clips on these shoes, so even if/when the lace knot comes undone, they keep the laces from loosening up at least. I wish every pair of lace shoes I own had those clips!

This is my 6th pair!As any trekker knows, comfort and fit are the most important factors for any footwear. These boots fit like a glove as soon as you put them on. They are light and great for long treks over multiple terrains. I first found these boots after I had major surgery on one of my feet. I couldn't wear any of the low cut or high cut boots because they put pressure on the back of my heel and Achilles. Since I can't run anymore, I walk 7-12 miles per day. I have wore these boots on treks in the Rockies and the Sierras. If you're a serious hiker, I suggest you have two pair and rotate wearing them. I wear them everywhere!

These boots are SWEET! Great for trekking or picking up the ladies!I am so glad Moosejaw helped me get a pair of these boots! I searched high and low for my size in the Lichen/Jester and I couldn't find them anywhereeven Moosejaw.com. Then one day I called into the AA store about the availability of another product and decided to ask about my shoes as well. Moosejaw said that they didn't have any in stock, but that they would special order a pair for me from Keen! My shoes arrived about two weeks later, and the store held them for me until I could come pick them up. I absolutely love these boots. They are not clunky like some, yet they feel very durable. After trying on a pair at the store before I ordered, I ended up getting a pair that was TWO sizes

Good boots shorter tripsThe fit is great if you have wider flat-er feet, or as another commenter said 'barge foot'. I guess I have barge feet too. Anyways they fit great but there seemed to be NO shock absorbtion compared to some other boots, on longer hikes my feet would just feel pounded. So I trimed an oversized set of superfeet orange insoles to fit these and BAM! They are a fantastic combo. For the longer hikes with heavy packs and bad weather, these are NOT the boots to take.. But if you are making shorter trips with light packs they are perfect. They have held up better than I expected over many, many miles of use. Good boot overall but I would try to get them at a discount if possible.

Great hiking boot for the money hands downI am a professional firefighter of 20 yrs. I spend thousands of hours in my boots. As an avid outdoorsman and living in pure Michigan we get plenty of pure snow, sleet, rain, mud, and cold. I have worn a couple other brands in the past. I would rate this boot very high. It is light but with good support. Fits very nice maybe runs a little small so if your thinking your in between sizes make sure you order up. Nice traction for hiking. Most importantly to me it is waterproof and wearable all seasons. I have no problem even through 0 degree winter days and with a good pair of thermal socks keeping my feet perfectly warm! Would have no hesitation ordering another pair when these are put to rest. Thanks

Great, comfortable boot for light-to-medium hiking and around town.I am one of those people who like to have a single pair of shoes for everything, so I pretty much wore these boots non-stop for a year and three months. For everyday wear and backpacking trips, including an eight day through hike with ~40lb pack, these boots proved to be comfortable and had good traction in every situation I wore them in. They are excellent for my wide feet. The only knock I have after wearing the crap out of them is the lace loops (keeps them from 5 stars). The webbed lace loops don't hold up like the rest of the shoe, and were the reason I had to retire them. If the lace loops wouldn't have failed me, I am confident they would have lasted a couple more months.

Great Boot for Hobbit FeetI am not the sort of person to run out and buy a pair of boots without doing my homework and trying them on multiple times. I am a pretty avid backpacker and have been looking for a new pair of boots to replace my favorites after about 500 miles. I have a difficult time finding boots wide enough for my hobbit like feet but these are wide, light weight, and waterproof. After my first 50 mile section on the AT since buying these boots I am very pleased. They held up well and kept my feet warm, comfortable, and dry. I am now a big fan of Keen and Moosejaw has the best price.
