"Hey, I'm a fan" 10/15/11
My ex-girlfriend got this for me last year as a gift. I've used this a few times on my solo treks in Alaska. Pretty light weight for a personal water purification system. I tend not to store water in it because it leaks when its tilted upside down or squeezed but its great when you are hiking or camping by a good water source. I would recommend this if you are hiking near a lot of water, like if you were trying to find the lost city of Atlantis.

Simplicity is the word that best describes this excellent water filter. Put away that filter at your next water break and bust out this super bottle. Fill it on the spot and take a sip. Too weak to squeeze and sip at the same time? Is someone carrying you in an over sized carriage up that mountain? Come on get a life! Seriously though, a great product and worth investing in if you're traveling, backpacking, surviving a zombie apocalypse or all of the above...
"Saved our camping trip!" 02/13/11
I was asked to come along on a camping trip for my Youth pastor friend and some of his teens. I packed my gear, which included my Katadyn bottle and the usual stuff. The weekend was hot and humid and the group were novice campers at best and hadn't brought enough water. Without this bottle along, it would have been a miserable and probably dangerous predicament in the heat, away from clean water sources. The bottle filtered water from a nearby river with ease and we filled empty water bottles as needed. Even though the river water smelled funky, the filtered water looked, smelled and tasted perfectly normal. FANTASTIC product for anyone doing backwoods excursions, or to travel light.
