Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you have the time to wait 4 hours, they work perfectly. Great for ultra light backpacking. Well, I have an allergy to iodine, so I was happy to find this product. It uses Chlorine Dioxide instead. I'm into ultra light backpacking, so these things are pretty cool since they're much lighter than a filter system. Tested it last night before going for a weekend hike this weekend, and it seemed to work pretty well. Water tasted very good. The only draw back is extended wait time for the stuff to work. It says up to 4 hours. But if you plan ahead, it shouldn't be a problem. Plus they’re so small and light, in my opinion, it more than makes up for having to wait. So if you're into the ultra light, I highly recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from why use anything else? Super light and a million times easier than pumps or filters, not sure why anyone would bother with anything else. Yes there is a slight taste at times but it never bothered me, at most it tastes like strong tap water. Leaving your water exposed to sunlight (UV) helps kill off the taste, not sure why, but I read that tip somewhere. If it really bothers you just put in some emergen-C or gatorade packets and you'll never notice. Only annoying thing is that the pellets sometimes get crushed inside the foil and are then hard to get out of the packet, so it helps to keep them in a small box/tin so they stay intact.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product...Buy it...NOW!!! Why are you reading the reviews? These whater purification tablets are lighter than filters, easier to use than filters, and just a wee bit slower than filters. I personaly think they make water taste better. I used them at Philmont, NM. My crew only waited 30 minutes for purification, and it was all fine. I suggest knowing what could possibly be in your area as far as waterbourne bacteria, viruses, and other organisms that make green stuff gush from your mouth...or just kill you. Theyre a good investment for traveling, camping, hiking, backpacking, and yes even french kissing...just kidding about that last one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and cheap backup. Who needs a Miox for over a hundred bucks when you can just use these smaller, lighter, cheaper tablets which create the same chloride compounds without batteries? After my Pur Explorer broke while I was backpacking alone in the Dacks I decided to get some tablets as a backup. They work great as long as you bring a cheese cloth or a bandana to keep the floaties out while you are filling up your bottle. They do however require a four hour waiting period to kill cysts (which are rare in most water), but as a backup or in generally clean water they’re fine. To save time I usually fill up a nalgene or two with water and drop a tab in before I reach camp so that’s it’s ready to go in the morn

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cleans water! I will only summarize on this one. Buy some of these, throw them into your pack as a back up to your water filter system you take, do not use them as the only method of purification due to cost and time mostly.,,PROS: cleans water with little or no taste, easy to use, packaging is very durable, packs into backpack with out taking up any room.,,CONS: Cost over time, 4 hour cleaning time.,,,,They are good but spend some money and buy a purifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, highly recommended! Uses chlorine purification. Did not notice extremely bad taste, maybe a little like city tap water. I used them over night and then shook the bottle a bit and the water was nice and cold due to the outside weather and the water tasted fine. I think it is the only EPA approved tablet on the market. Oh yeah, and I haven't been sick yet!! Thats the most important part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Package SO I have received my Water Purification pills, and have been asked to write a review. I could lie and say they work great even though I have not tried them yet. I could run out into the freezing rain, dip a glass in a brown puddle of water and do a test. Or I can tell you how much I like the package and move on with my life...Nice package

Moving on now...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't have Giardia yet (phew) I haven't ever gotten sick drinking water that I have purified with these tablets. At the same time, however, I used to just drink out of the lake/stream without tablets and that didn't make me sick either. They are also highly toxic (even to touch with bare hands) and the water has to sit for four hours for the reaction to complete.
