Rated 3 out of 5 by from great sunglasses loose fit can be fixed! I recently purchased the sherpas. From other reviews I gathered that they fit a little loose on some people. I have an average sized head and the length of the hooked temples were a little long, making them too loose and floppy on my face (especially with the shrouds attached). I took them to my local spectacle shop and they were able to shorten the length so that they now fit snug. Don't be put off by the fit issues if you're willing to go have some inexpensive adjustments made. Their durability has yet to be proven but at the price, what the hey, they seem durable enough. I'm also going to have RX lenses put in them. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If you don't mind looking like a dork.... These have a somewhat limited usage range for me as the conditions have to be very bright to use. I bought these for a peak climbing trip in Wyoming and they worked as advertised on glaciers with the side shields in place with little to no light leakage. The ear pieces can be contorted to fit just about any ear, though these fit large in general. I did develop a large scratch in the lens during the first use from a relatively minor drop, so I question the durability of the lens coating. Be warned I am not sure anyone can make these glasses look cool...keep them in the backcountry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's hard to find a much better pair of sunglasses for the price. An excellent bargain Man... they do everything. I use them when i ride bikes, climb glaciers, spear a bear with my bare hands, or even when i do cartwheels. What a great buy for the price. Keep in mind that this is not the best pair of sunglasses, but they sure could pass for a nicer pair. With the wrap-around ear-piece, they stay where you want them. The side shields block out most light. The lenses seem to be nice. No scratches after a month of use. Be careful though. While these fit my face superbly, they slide off my friends nose. Whenever these fall apart, i will be buying another pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good glacier goggles for the money So, I used these for a bit of ice climbing and mountaineering, and they worked well for me. The ear hooks keep them secure on my face, and they have a nice dark tint which helps a lot when you are out on the ice during the day. Also, the side panels are nice to guard from light, but seem breathable. Overall the glasses seem pretty breathable as they fog less than similar ones I have. I do not love the nosepiece, and wish it was easily moldable. They seem to fit other people just as well as they fit me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HIt or miss I have two pairs of these. They're a great price and will get the job done. I liked the first pair enough to buy a second, however I found the lenses to be a little scratch prone (and/or I'm a klutz). So now after a year I have glasses that are great for 90% of my field of view, but there's a little hole on my right eye side that basically let's all the sun in. Kind of blows, and I have to say I'm in the market for something a little more resilient. Or perhaps I should get hiking poles.....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No matter what, they're going to fall apart. I work at a wolf sanctuary in New Mexico and these things made working outdoors in the high sun and snow a little more tolerable. At least I could see. Unfortunately, unless you keep them in their hard case, those little side shields are going to snap right off and you'll end up with funny little things dangling off the side of your head. ,,,,They were broken even before a wolf stole them and chewed on them till I couldn't see out the right lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid glasses I've had these glasses for about a year and have used them for six high peaks (5,700m and above). The glasses are great for the following reasons, because they: ,,- reduce glare enormously and leave my eyes feeling fresh and unstrained even on bluebird days; ,,- don't darken too much such that I can wear them from when it is barely light or also on cloudy days without loss of visibility;,,- don't fog up.,,,,Slight downsides: they seem to slip down on me a bit (some adjustment may be necessary), and also the round (rather than oblong) earpieces tend to press when under helmet and balaklava and buff.,,,,All in all, they do what they gotta do, they look kinda cool (except my climbing partner has some serious vintage glaciar glasses, so he wins), and if you accidentally step on them or they fall off the mountain, you won't be out a month's wages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal. Buy one for your Aunty. Oh yeah, blocking out the sun on the side of your face kicks big fat ass baby! These lil bad boys hug your head without pinching it, unless you have a bulbous head. They sit off your face enough so that you get sufficient ventilation while being close enough to your eyes to offer superior protection from snow and water glare. A Must have for winter backpackers, amateur mountaineers and wakeboarders.
