"great stove at a good price" 03/07/12
This is a great stove, I have heard from friends who have the other jetboils that the starter goes anyway, this one is cheaper due to not having a built in starter... bring some waterproof matches, big deal. Have not had any issue with this as of yet, I bring it on the plane in a checked bag or just when I am driving to go camping. The smaller propane tanks are a bit hard to find but when you do find them the whole thing fits in the cup. propane obviously not to be brought if you bring it on the plane.
"Great for racking nuts! not sure I would get it for any other use" 03/07/12
this is great for racking any gear you would find getting snagged on a standard carabiner and is lighter weight than a keylock, plus it is smoother than a keylock anyway... no snag at all vs the little metal nubs that are on the keylock. I dont buy keylocks anyway but if I did I would buy these instead.
"Great Stove!" 02/04/12
This is one of those great products that you wait for the upgrade to come out so that you can get the original cheaper. It is compact, light, and easy to use. Perfect for boiling water to make dehydrated meals.
"Perfect for weekend trips in a small group." 12/13/11
I bought this to replace a MSR Pocket Rocket that broke on my last trip. I love how the pot is attached to the stove in order to conserve fuel and you don't have to worry about the pot slipping off and spilling. The only downside is that if the food begins to boil over, it's pretty hard to remove it from the heat quickly. That just means that you have to pay attention when cooking. Otherwise, love how compact it is and the insulated cup. Not perfect if you want to do any serious cookin (I bring my MSR Dragonfly for that), but great for boiling some water, making some rice, or cooking some soup.
"Convenient, Light, and Effective" 12/04/11
Seriously, perfection in a stove. It is made with real thought, and the design is as innovative as it is practical. Boils water faster than anything else I have used, and the gas usage is highly efficient. Have yet to have a problem or question my purchase! Highly recommended.
"Just Perfect!" 11/25/11
I use this almost everywhere. I wanted to bring it inside to the kitchen but my wife said no. It was tremendous. I like the need for nothing to light it. It indicates when the water has reached the needed temps and it makes cooking foods and boiling water for coffee and breakfast a cinch. I'm hoping to get some of accessories soon to expand on my outdoor cooking menu! Wonderful product!
"Bad A$$ Boil Set" 10/11/11
Pros: comes w/ extra equipment (tripod stand & attachment to boil other pots $20 value), strainer & sipping hole are practical, fuel can & everything it comes w/ (accept attachment to boil other pots) fits inside the pot; its compact in my pack. Its lightweight Im no counter, but considering if you were to buy a standalone burner (MSR Pocket rocket) youll need to bring the fuel & pot etc. which will not be condensed into a small size like jetboil. Con: the simmer dial seems to not work; it's either off, high, or higher. Hard trying to sustain a boil for a length of time. Its a non issue; the last thing I need is to use up my fuel boiling water forever. Get this! You will not regret it!
"very compact inexpensive jetboil but a gem for the price" 06/19/11
When I saw this hit $59 I knew it was time to take the plunge into the all in one system. It's a little smaller then the normal jetboil but for $40 less then the original not to bad of a trade off. I fired this thing up about 30 seconds out of the box and it boiled water faster then it took me to get everything out of the box and setup. For the price you can't go wrong if your looking for a basic jetboil if you don't mind not having all the bells and whistles that some of the others have, piezo lighter, that special color changing one to tell you your water is warm enough..isn't that what eyes are for to see it boiling?
"For a fast cup of hot water...." 04/26/11
Compact, fast, clever design, I love this thing. I’m thinking about replacing my microwave with it for heating water. You would not believe how tough it is backpacking with a microwave, not to mention the extension cord!Seriously, there are a couple of small changes I’d make. One, the lid could snap on a bit more securely. Two, it can be hard to find a hole to slide the match in for lighting. Overall though, it’s pure gold. I fed my family of four on freeze dried meals with it, and the last person’s water was boiling long before the first person’s meal was done un-freeze-drying.
