Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the one Have used the Jetboil Sol Titanium Personal Cooking System for many miles on the Appalachian Trail. It is not really for cooking in; it's for boiling water in, which it does very well. I don't really use the integrated cup. Fuel lasts for a long time because water boils so quickly. I just pour the necessary amount of boiling water into my bowl, with the dried meal, and presto--minutes to dinner. The only difficult part is waiting for the boiling water to do it's job before chowing down. I like this system for not taking up too much room in my pack and for the fact that it is lightweight. For me it is the right system at the right price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ultra-light stove that boils fast and packs light First of all this thing boils super fast. Some of the specs can be confusing so I wasn't expecting the speed (I think they rate by volume or something). Everything including fuel canister fits nicely in the pot unlike a few of its competitors. Another bonus is that the Jetboil fuel is easy to find locally so you don't have to mess with shipping, which changes the price significantly. Separating the pot from the burner is fairly easy even when its still hot. Pot is also very durable. I burned some food in it (you're only supposed to boil water ... oops) and the steel wool scrubbing didn't leave a scratch. Still looks brand new!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bottom line: Well Designed This is an excellent stove. The only reason I give it 4/5 is because of the price. In every other aspect this stove performs flawlessly. I also have an MSR reactor and I honestly think they are both dead even. Each one has the draw back of being a bit expensive but either one will certainly get the job done. Also, it's pretty hard/impossible to simmer on this thing. Also, it doesn't work well at EXTREMELY cold temperatures so it's probably not a great choice for mountaineering. It's basically designed for you to heat water and pour it into a dehydrated bag of food. This is something I carried both on the PCT and the AT and never had any issues with. I recommend this stove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for boiling water very fast, not much else The neoprene sleeve has pictures explaining you shouldn't melt snow or ice in this, that also means you shouldn't cook. The small fins of the heat-exchanger are very fragile and will melt off if heat-exchange isn't good enough. ,,,,I've been very careful with mine, while still using it gently to melt snow and very gently heating food only a few times, and the fins are already falling off. I've heard they should be stronger on the non-Ti versions, but that doesn't help me now.,,,,So, if you're only boiling water, this is a good one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great to have hot food Last time I shared the cooking system with friends on the trip to Grand Teton. It was so great to have hot water and hot food in the back country. I decided to get my own one. I got two choices between Titanium and Aluminum. To be honest, I've no idea how big difference would these two materials make, except Titanium is lighter. At last I found a price match and bought the Titanium one. It works fine, can't tell if it is better than my friend's aluminum set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but made to last and makes it so easy Probably didn't need the titanium, but the size and weight makes packing a joy and heating water a snap. I went from pocket rocket and gsi cup to adding homemade coozy, lid and windscreen. Now it is all here in one well-designed integrated unit. Mostly just boil water for coffee and mtn house dinners - it is much more fuel efficient than my old set-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, noticeable improvement over the Flash This is the second Jetboil that we have owned. Our old model was the Flash, and we were quite happy with it, but I got this one on sale a while back. This model has noticeable improvements over our old Flash. The time for a full boil is a little but faster, but Jetboils are so fast anyway that that in itself does not make a huge difference. The cup itself is somewhat squatter than the old model and the materials used in the overall construction do seem a little thinner, but we have not had any problems with them. Of course, the main reason to buy this product is the weight. If you are considering getting the non-Ti one, my advice is just to spend the few extra dollars and get the Ti one. The reduction in weight, especially over our Flash, is actually fairly dramatic. Even though it might be only a few ounces, those ounces add up quickly, and this is a great way to save some weight. Jetboils are great products, I have never heard of anyone having problems with them.
