"I will never wear cotton socks again!" 12/02/11
Icebreakers have ruined cotton socks for me. I have been completely converted to their wool socks! Warm weather, frigid weather - all the time. Their super feature: not smelly! I can wear these puppies a few times before washing. I have already warned all my besties they will be getting Icebreakers for Christmas.
"wear these in all my hiking attire in all seasons.super comfy.little loss of support" 05/02/11
I wear these socks year round. They are amazing. Super comfortable and breathable. Breathable is an absolute must for me as I don't like stinky shoes. My husband has the same pair and he loves his too. The only shoes I don't wear them in are my Vibram FiveFingers. You should really get them. You won't regret it. Totally worth the cost.
"cushion and warm" 02/02/11
I live in Seattle where walking through puddles is inevitable. These keep my feet dry and warm without being to warm, plus provide cushion since I stand for hours on end. I have met women in the sock isle of stores and told them about these socks. They were thrilled that there is an option out there for them, usually we have to buy mens socks that don't fit right. Thanks..........
"very impressed" 01/28/11
I am really impressed with the way this sock handles odour - they really won't stink after exercise. I have worn them on practice hikes in the Australian summer (very hot climate) and haven't been let down. In warmer weather it can be a good idea to wear a thin, wicking sock inside them. In cooler weather, they work great on their own.I also must admit that I love the packaging the socks come in - Icebreaker provides a number you can use to track down the specific farm from which the wool was sourced. A great personal touch to a well made product.
"Holds up well, hides dirt, but stretches a little" 09/08/09
I wore these socks pretty much every other day on the John Muir Trail (with side trips = 250 miles), and then wore them on several other backpacking/climbing trips. They held up better than the other pair of socks I brought (a pair of SmartWools), although perhaps the dark color that hides dirt may also hide wear & tear/thinning of the sock. I think I can keep using them for a while yet. Big ups for keeping my feet comfortable - I did not need liner socks! - and they were warm enough on cold nights. However, I did not like that they seemed to stretch a little.
"Cozy socks" 07/29/09
Just got these socks for a trip, and they are great! A little warm for a summer hike, but would be nice and warm for a winter trek. The only issue I have had with the socks is that they are rather tight on my calves, but to solve this problem I just roll them down to the ankles.
