"Great spring/fall or chilly summer evenings jacket"
05/22/13
This jacket seems to be designed with the avid cyclist in mind; while I'm not quite so sporty, the functionality and features seem awesome - a few that I noticed right away are the mesh areas under the armpits for breatheability, reflective piping on zipper and sides for visibility while walking or cycling, and extra reinforcing in certain areas. Weight is still light enough that I'd pack it for a camping trip, yet thick enough that I'm sure I'd be warm as long as there isn't actually snow on the ground.
Fit is important. This fits me perfect. Medium size, I'm 6' and 170 lbs. That is a athletic fit. Snug but not tight. Quality construction, perfect fit, warm and breathable. I bought this for early am trail runs and while it is a little warm for most of my runs (im in so. cal), it is great for the colder days
I have enjoyed this mid layer quite a bit. The sleeves are plenty long for my long arms. The full zip is very convenient for quick off and on as well as venting but it does make the garment a little heavy. Probably not going to be an item I take backpacking but is certainly good for those cold morning hikes and bike rides when venting can become an issue as you heat up.
I have this bad boy in black and it is my absolute go-to jacket for all occasions. Icebreaker makes the best merino products, in my opinion, and their GT fabric is unstoppable. With just a slight amount of lycra, GT fabric offers a progressively cut athletic fit - great for sports and super stylish around the office. Black merino is ridiculously easy to dress up, so I wind up using this for all occasions: hiking, work, travel, home, everything!Like most Icebreaker GT items, this jacket has a trim fit, so beware. Wash carefully and line dry to protect this investment.
