"This base layer is the bombdiggidity!" 12/02/12
I love this base layer! Recently wore it for a week straight in the Canadian wilderness and it was amazing. It does what Icebreaker says. Keeps you warm when you need it, but it's also cool when the weather warms up. And after a week, it didn't smell! Or maybe I was used to the funk? Seriously, the natural wool fiber is magical. I've also used it several times running now that the weather is getting colder. Regulates your body temp surprisingly well and wicks away moisture. Highly recommend it.
"Tough Base Layer-Not So Tough Zipper-Remedied With Great Moosejaw Service" 10/31/12
I am a big fan of merino wool base layer shirts. They're more comfortable than tech fabrics, and can be worn for weeks without any stink. I need only a few because they are so durable and can be worn for weeks on end. Sadly, after only the third wear, the zipper on the this one broke. I brought it back into Moosjaw, and happily and with out any questions shipped me a new one out FexEx ground. Probably a fluke they said, and I will have a replacement within days. Love the service, and the product.
"not my favorite icebreaker" 12/11/11
I have quite a few icebreakers, but this one does not top the list. It isn't as soft as the others, and I prefer the ones that zip down lower. It's an icebreaker, so it's good, but it's not at the level of many of their other products.
"A great versatile baselayer" 04/23/11
This base layer with long sleeve, collar, and zip is highly versatile. Perfect for the Midwest winter and mid-season. Merino wool keep you warm when it's cold and cold when it's warm: it's air conditioning right next to your skin. It looks good and can be worn alone. Highly recommended.
"You'll never want to wear any other base layers." 03/10/11
Just won't let you down, regardless of temp. Size runs a litte tight. Spent a week wearing the same base layer last fall in northern Michigan. No stink and never felt grungy. Worth every penny.
"Just Try to Find a Better Base Layer" 01/03/11
Icebreaker makes a great product. This shirt is super light, keeps me cool when I'm a hot mess (wicks fast, dries fast) and keeps me toasty when my man-ipples look like they can break their own ice. I pack this shirt with me wherever I go, as well as the crew version. When layered together, they are about as warm as the warmest sweater I had before I heard of Icebreaker, and they breath way better. Also, I can wear my Icebreakers for days and they don't build up any smelly funk. The quarter-zip is nice - it gives the shirt an extra element of breathability or a little extra warmth for the neck - a great feature if you're stopping and going with a heavy pack in the cold.
"Merino wool "virgin" professes love for Icebreaker Mondo!!!" 12/15/10
I just got my Icebreaker today and took a walk in this 32 degree winter eve with my trusty wonder mutt, Amber (she stuck with her traditional dog fur). I'm blown away by how WARM, how SOFT and how FORM FITTING this top is. It's perfect as a base layer for my "keep it moving" self! I'm going hiking Sunday morning and can't wait to put the Merino wool through it's paces. Is it appropriate for a man to love a base layer this much? Rick Charlotte, NC
