"Superlight, comfortable warmth and isn't in the way of any movements." 02/29/12
This piece is so light, im beginning to suspect that someone filled the fibers with helium! It is surprisingly warm for its weight and when you are out in the trail or climbing you dont feel inhibited to do any moves. But i must warn you, your other baselayer tops may be jealous of this bad boy. 5/5
"The only baselayer you'll ever need" 12/18/11
I purchased this as a baselayer for winter running in Chicago, and after wearing it once, immediately purchased a second one. Merino wool is much warmer than synthetics, wicks well and doesn't require as frequent washing. I also like this top for casual wear when hanging around my apartment; it's as soft and comfortable as cotton. I'm 6'0" tall and weigh 170 pounds and purchased a medium. The fit is slim, but not as tight as other Icebreaker products that contain Lycra for stretch.
"My Husband's Favorite!" 09/11/11
This high performance top is a great addition to any closet. Made out of 100% merino wool. Non scratchy and super warm! Feel free to work up a sweat because the shirt wicks well. What a great shirt for breathable, flexible, odor eliminating, wicking-power.
"Stink eating, body regulating monster" 06/01/11
I have nothing bad to say about this. Naturally odor resistant, incredibly comfortable and it regulates body temperature excellently. It wicks away moisture and because it is wool it maintains the ability to insulate even when wet (80%).Synthetics make me smell, this makes me smell purdy!
"Great top, buy it and you won't regret it!" 01/14/11
Quality is obvious. Looks good and feels good. No-itch. A great form fitting solo top for mild weather. Fantastic base-layer when worn under a mid-layer for cool to cold weather. Keeps you comfortable: warm when it is cool and cool when it is warm. Dries quickly. Well made and durable, even when worn under a pack. Keeps the stink factor down even after several days of backpacking in the Allegheny Mts..
"The everyday Icebreaker top." 12/11/10
I wear this shirt on lazy Saturday mornings as I watch the peons go to work while I sip my espresso and giggle. Then my alarm clock goes off and I haul my buns to work. I am Jacks delusional dream state. This lightweight top is perfect for early winter but easily worn inside when you want to save on the monthly heating bill. Order a size bigger, as usual with Icebreaker, and you will be fine. Icebreakers famous merino is like wearing an insulated t-shirt, soft and as supple as Itzhak Perlmans hands smothered in coconut oil. Do it.
"Never gets smelly" 09/22/10
You can wear this shirt for days without having to wash it. It wicks really well, but doesn't dry as fast as Capilene baselayers. However, it's perfect for multi-day trips, as you can wear it everyday without getting kicked out of the tent by your hiking mates. It's a nice, tight fit. I'm 6'0" and 165lbs, and the medium is tight enough that I wouldn't wear it in casual situations.
"I own multiple brands and like this the most" 04/27/10
I really like this shirt. It is form fitting, very light weight, and i didn't find it scratchy(even before washing). From what I hear they just get softer and softer as you wash them but as far as I am concerned. This is a replacement for my old one that is being retired but the old one did not fail, its owner failed it.For my style of backpacking this is the perfect all around baselayer or outerlayer.Pair this with a wind shirt, UL down jacket and a poncho/tarp and you are set for anything.
"Great, great base layer" 12/24/09
I have used this shirt as a base layer for a few week's now (in temps down to the 30s), and it has been fantastic. Comfortable, keeps me at a good temperature, and not really itchy. Hasn't smelled, and dries super quick after washing. Great shirt!
