The Icebreaker Men's Quantum Plus Hood is a mid layer jacket for active weekends. Throw it on for your early morning run, pop around to your favorite shops, and finish out the day with an evening hike. The merino wool is blended with elastane to provide stretch while you move. The 260gm midweight keeps the chill of while also providing water resistance to get you through a damp afternoon. The side panels are ventilated to keep you from overheating during your favorite activity. The two zippered hand pockets and zippered chest pocket protect keys, mp3 player, and ID secure on the trail and in town. The thumb loops will keep sleeves right where you want them, and provide added warmth to your hands. I call them thumbies.

Waist - Place the measuring tape at your natural waist, which is the narrowest point on your torso.
Hips - Place the measuring tape around the fullest point on your hips.

Warm and ToastyI found this fabulous sale and scored this jacket for peanuts. I bought it for my grandson and when it came in, my son and grandson wanted it. My grandson got it and on the first cold morning wore it for about ten minutes and started unzipping it. He told me that we would have to wait for really cold weather for him to wear it all the time. I am really pleased at the lightweight of this jacket and the ability to keep him warm. I have some friends that tried to get the same deal but were too late. I am still recommending moosejaw to everyone I see.

I really wanted to love this...For the most part it's a nice lightweight midlayer - the hoody fits snugly without bunching or covering the eyes, and the DWR finish is handy, but here are my frustrations: 1) The vent mesh runs all the way down to the wrists, and sucks any mist in as well as the DWR finish over the rest of the material keeps it off. It's fine under the pits, but my forearms, which don't need ventilation and are out in the thick of things, would MUCH rather have DWR fabric. 2) The thumbhole cuffs are stiff and you have to wear them over your thumbs or you'll look tacky and get drafts up your sleeves. Of course the seam is on the palm right under my thumbs, so there's an awkward lump in the worst spot. 3) The hand pockets are mostly loose inside and tend to bunch down, forming some odd-looking curved bulges behind the very thin fabric. I bought this on clearance and will keep it, but I definitely would have been unhappy had I paid full retail for this item.
