The Icebreaker Men's Legacy Coat is a stylish merino wool coat with performance to back it. The coat is 380gm, heavyweight for warmth with a windproof laminate to block the blustery cold. The regular fit allows you to wear your favorite holiday sweater underneath, or a slick v-neck long sleeve for that special date. The hem falls at the hip, for a classic, casual look that fits in anywhere. The mid length collar warms the neck and the front storm flap blocks the breeze from leaking through the zipper. The internal cuffs are stretchy and wrap close to your wrist, deterring cold drafts. Explore the wintery towns, while staying toasty warm on the inside.

ICEBREAKER MEASUREMENT GUIDE and FIT INFO
• Please note that all the info provided refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.
• If your body measurements are midway between two sizes, go to the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit.
• If your body measurements result in different sizes, Icebreaker recommends using your chest measurement for tops and your hip measurement for pants.
HOW TO MEASURE:
Chest - Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist - Place the measuring tape at your natural waist, which is the narrowest point on your torso.
Hips - Place the measuring tape around the fullest point on your hips.
FIT INFO AND DETAILS:
Slim Fit - A snug, close-to-the-body fit for low-bulk layering.
Regular Fit - A fit that is neither snug nor loose. Garments with this fit can be worn solo or over other layers.
Relaxed Fit - Loose-fitting lightweight layers. Ideal for more casual use.
* You can find the fit info for Icebreaker styles in the product description features and specifications.

The Panty-DropperI got this for my husband as a gift because he wanted a dressier warm coat without the nerdy hipsterness of a peacoat or the mafioso look of a trench. He is 5'8.5ish, 180lbs, athletically built-- a true Medium in everything. The Medium in this coat fits him like a glove and it is spanking hot. He looks like James Bond when he wears it. The fabric, cut, and quality of the jacket make it look like Gucci/Fendi/Prada. And it's very warm, blocks wind completely, and has handy inner cuffs to keep wind from going up his sleeve. MEN: buy this coat because it looks super sexy. Especially if you are athletically built, not like the skinny Icebreaker model on their website.

Love itThat model must be the skinniest dude on the planet. I'm 6 3 at 190 pounds and wear 34 34 pants. I'm so glad I went with a XL. The sleeve length is perfect, Hangs about 3 inches below my belt. My advice is find a coat that you already have and compare the measurements online.
It has cinch tabs for the bottom, There is vertical zipper pocket inside the vertical zipper inside pocket pocket. I guess the inside inside pocket could hold keys or weed. The main inside pocket is perfect for my sunglasses. The polyester lining is silky smooth.
Ok, I do love this Jacket. Looks better than the online pictures. Let the compliments roll, already got a few today and suspect many more to come. IB quality is amazing, I have no doubts this jacket will do me for many years to come!

Performance and styleThis coat performed great for 3 days walking outside in Chicago in the wind and high temps in the mid-20s. It blocked the wind and kept me warm without overheating (I had one IB base layer and one IB mid layer underneath). And it looks great, so I can have a performance coat for all day and the same stylish coat for going out that night.
Size: I'm 6' and 165 lbs. and started with a size M. It was almost a bit tight in the shoulders and wouldn't have allowed enough layering underneath. Size L is almost perfect for me.

F'ugly and cheapI bought this to replace an older Icebreaker boiled merino jacket that I wear in the city. This jacket was nicer in that it had a really luxe full lining. But it was cheaper in that the boiled merino (thing that keeps you warm and repels weather and that I was actually interested in) was much, much thinner and lighter - more cosmetic than substantive. The design was poorly thought out with really long sleeves that had no seal (cinch or elastic) on a wide cuff, and it was weirdly formal (I'm sure the designer would say "urban") in its cut around the shoulders which are rigid and squared like a suitcoat/blazer. Generally I'm big in the shoulders for my size (men's small) but this thing hung unattractively on me. I did like the fact that it was tailored (narrowed) in the waist, at least that qualifies as "athletic fit.",,,,

Functional & StylishThis jacket is functional and stylish for its intended purpose even in Canadian winters. I am a guy who love vibrant autumn colors, hence the drop in one star. I only wish it came in some lovely autumn colors. With proper IB undershirt (Oasis) and a top (Pursuit/Crosscut) and the legacy coat on the outside it will keep you pleasantly warm and toasty and not to over heat or be cold. The small fits me well. I am about 177 cm and about 58 kg.

Stylish and well-cut coatThis coat is stylish and well-cut - it feels like a very premium product. I had to choose between the L and the XL (I am 6'4" and with a 42 inch chest). I went with the L - it feels snug, especially with a chunkier sweater on and raising one's arms feels slightly restricted but I think this will be fine once it's worn in. I have no doubt it will be a great winter coat!

Made In China!I thought I was buying a premium, made in New Zealand merino jacket. I was surprised to find a 'Made in China' sticker inside the jacket. I still can't find anywhere on their website where they admit to this - lots of photos of rolling green NZ hills and wild forests though.

Great jacket but buy it one size largerGreat jacket but make sure you buy it one size larger than you normally would for other icebreaker gear. I originally purchased it in my usual size and it was ridiculously small. I had to exchange it at the local store which wasn't a problem.
