Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good So Far Having switched to Hoka Stinson Trail shoes for relay and trail running a few years ago I was excited when I saw the Tor Ultras coming out earlier this year as I was searching for a good hiking boot to tackle Glacier this year. Put about 100 miles on them on local trails before heading to Glacier in September. Did 40+ miles in Glacier in the cold and wet weather we were greeted with, carrying a 50lbs pack and never once had an issue with my feet. Since then I have probably put another 100 miles on them on the local trails and they are still in good shape. The soles haven't seemed to wear that much and still provide me great traction running down steep grades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the absolute best Using these hi-tops to walk the Great Glen trail in Scotland. Rainy wet and muddy is the name . WP only goes to mid ankle, as the tongue is seperate and no gussets go up the shin. step too deep and your foot will probably get wet. That said, wading in deep water is not what the shoe is for. THe Hoka soles are awesome, and the concussion absorption is a great benefit. If there were better sole relief for a gaiter strap, that would be an improvement, but on the whole, I think these are great at doing the job I asked of them. Comfort is off of the charts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique Boots Bought these in a 9 to match my Hoka Running shoes, but ended up shipping back to get a 9.5. I could have survived with the 9, but that half size up feels great with socks and sock liner combined. I've only done one hike in these, so early days, but they are unique boots. They are very light, very comfy and have far more support than my "normal" hiking boots. I also think I could do trail runs in these. They look like they would be heavy but they are light and once laced up truly conform to the feet. My feet are narrow but things are okay when I've got these laced snuggly. Am looking forward to several summit hikes in June. The first real test worthy of mention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a awesome boot I have been battling plantar fasciitis for about 6 months and have bought numerous running shoes and boots. I ordered a pair of Hoka's to try out before I went to Colorado on my annual archery elk hunt and hiking adventure. All I can say is wow, had no pain at all and hiked and hunted for approx. 85 miles in 9 days. I was very impressed with the comfort, traction, water proofing and durability. The boots performed on a much higher level than I thought they would from their appearance. I'm ordering another pair for casual use. Don't hesitate to purchase these shoes (little pricey) but worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough enough for a GORUCK event? Knowing the extreme nature of the event itself I didn't know if the shoe would hold up to the stress. I was wrong. The GORUCK Challenge consisted of 12 hours of continual subjection to Cadre harassment (physical conditioning training) and carrying heavy objects over long distances. The shoes were comfortable right from the box. I got them the DAY of the event. Not the smartest thing to do however my feet would have been 10x worst without the soft soles under my feet. The weight of cement parking blocks were crushing at times however the traction in wet conditions and in sand was terrific and kept the load in check. I will be wearing them on a GORUCK Heavy 24 hour event soon and will report back. Highly recommend. Lace easy with gloves on, super soft, flexible, mesh with the terrain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 6 months of wear allmost every day. Best boot or shoe I have found for severe Planter fasciitis. and I have tried them all. I just wish badly that it was built stronger for better ankle support. especially when hiking with a back pack. I am a big guy, 255 lbs. and comfort has to come first then support but only because I have tender feet. great comfort out there but need to improve support!!! even after spending up to $500.00 for a comfort hiking boot. these still smoke anything. but dang it Hoka make a but with better hiking support boot or shoe please for the love of all that is holly. oh and these out last all other hoka brads by 5 times the wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boot - just what I expected. I have been having a lot of trouble finding the right boots - my research involves hiking up to 20 miles on boulder fields and rocks, down dry creek beds and generally off trail in the desert. Every boot I have tried in the past year hurt my feet after a few hours, making for miserable travel. I was aiming on taking my Hoku One One running shoes, but I really needed the ankle support for rolling on the rocks. As soon as I saw the M TOR ULTRA HI WP on the website I ordered a pair. Now at the end of a trek, everything is sore except my feet. These boots have great support, great traction...eevrything you would expect from Hoku One One - but the best part is that they cushion even the gnarliest jagged rocks. I can jump from rock to rock in full confidence, and even after 20 miles - no problem. The laces make for full top to bottom adjustments so you can have full control over the fit. I have never been more pleased with a pair of hiking boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Step in the Right Direction Daily 10 miles hikes in PNW & Half Dome: Wet, Rocky, & Steep No pressure points & Comfortable Cuffs Normal footbed - Comfortable sole - Stable No problem with sweating Adequate waterproofing Good grip: feel safe on slippery rocks - less on wet wood Need width options to match the natural outline of feet - learn from Clark Good toe cap for protection Laces stay tied with double knot Use custom insert for backpacking Ankle support is not tight - I can tighten it & avoid blisters from tight ankle grip
