Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good So Far Having switched to Hoka Stinson Trail shoes for relay and trail running a few years ago I was excited when I saw the Tor Ultras coming out earlier this year as I was searching for a good hiking boot to tackle Glacier this year. Put about 100 miles on them on local trails before heading to Glacier in September. Did 40+ miles in Glacier in the cold and wet weather we were greeted with, carrying a 50lbs pack and never once had an issue with my feet. Since then I have probably put another 100 miles on them on the local trails and they are still in good shape. The soles haven't seemed to wear that much and still provide me great traction running down steep grades.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique Boots Bought these in a 9 to match my Hoka Running shoes, but ended up shipping back to get a 9.5. I could have survived with the 9, but that half size up feels great with socks and sock liner combined. I've only done one hike in these, so early days, but they are unique boots. They are very light, very comfy and have far more support than my "normal" hiking boots. I also think I could do trail runs in these. They look like they would be heavy but they are light and once laced up truly conform to the feet. My feet are narrow but things are okay when I've got these laced snuggly. Am looking forward to several summit hikes in June. The first real test worthy of mention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a awesome boot I have been battling plantar fasciitis for about 6 months and have bought numerous running shoes and boots. I ordered a pair of Hoka's to try out before I went to Colorado on my annual archery elk hunt and hiking adventure. All I can say is wow, had no pain at all and hiked and hunted for approx. 85 miles in 9 days. I was very impressed with the comfort, traction, water proofing and durability. The boots performed on a much higher level than I thought they would from their appearance. I'm ordering another pair for casual use. Don't hesitate to purchase these shoes (little pricey) but worth every penny!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First impression... First impression is great. They feel comfortable and there is good support available through the ankle as well as offering a sturdy platform like it will be hard to roll. Right off the bat I looked at the sole- its a more durable vibram sole than some of its running counterparts, which for me start to break down much much quicker than a similarly priced competitor shoe. (however, Hokas are so comfortable its worth it). Overall they look great, and I can't wait to really test them. Planning on taking them up Mt. Blanca and Mt. Longs here in the next 2 weeks. Ill update the review after.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the absolute best Using these hi-tops to walk the Great Glen trail in Scotland. Rainy wet and muddy is the name . WP only goes to mid ankle, as the tongue is seperate and no gussets go up the shin. step too deep and your foot will probably get wet. That said, wading in deep water is not what the shoe is for. THe Hoka soles are awesome, and the concussion absorption is a great benefit. If there were better sole relief for a gaiter strap, that would be an improvement, but on the whole, I think these are great at doing the job I asked of them. Comfort is off of the charts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the idea, just okay with the execution I bought these several months ago and have worn them for 30 miles of difficult hiking (average 800ft climb per mile). My main disappointment is how well the exterior toe is holding up where the rubber area connects. It is coming undone already and the rubber is very soft. I think it should be on soft most of the shoe for suspension, but on the toe it needs a tougher cap and I will try to do my own). It is my favorite shoe to hustle down a mountain with but most of my shoes/boots look like the Hokas after 200 miles not 30.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and support I am recovering from Achilles Tendon repair surgery and I needed a good pair of supportive shoes to transition into from my orthopedic boot, 2 months after my operation. I selected these shoes because of the heel to toe drop, cushioning, fit, and the fact that I had room to comfortably place a 10mm heel lift for my injured foot. The shoes have been fantastic, offering comfort and support as I "re-learn" to walk in a shoe. I am sure they will be great for light trail hiking and trail running as I continue my recovery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for post ACL reconstruction knees After a difficult ACL reconstruction, never thought I'd be able to hike vertically. These boots provide the support and extra cushion to put me back in the game. Hiked with poles before and after ACL reconstruction. Good traction on rock scrambling. Durable, cushioned sole for rocky terrain and descent. Need a little extra time to get used to the bulk on the sole, but so worthwhile. Lifechanging post surgery! Sizing - fit true to size; alot of room in the toe box. I used a thin liner and a thicker wool hiking sock.
