Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome shoe, bad tongue Great shoes, love the clifton for road and challenger atr for trails. I am an ultra endurance runner and these both work perfectly for me. The one thing I don't like is the new tongue. I agree the old one was flimsy so I can see why you changed it to a more substantial one, but it is too stiff and digs into my foot and is uncomfortable. I have tried to find the Clifton 1's to buy as I really dont like the tongue on the Clifton 2, but I can't find any so I will have to live with the new tongue. Love everything else about the shoe though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite wide enough I was looking for a shoe for every day casual wear, particularly for winter and light snow. Too bad they turned out too narrow, but excellent cushioning though. Just a little wider please. And a little more room in the toe box would help too. I'm used to Eccos. Valor turned out to be barely wide enough, wearing black for work use. Excellent on slab floors. I don't feel the floor at all. Hoping for more color choices in the future (Valor), and also for casual dress shoe line as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color darker than picture I like Hokas, I have five now, mostly trail shoes. I got into it because I have chronic back problems so I decided to buy the brown one for work to look less like a sneaker. Sadly the color is not as nice as in the picture. It is a dull brown and so are the soles. The picture looks 'brighter' and a lighter brown, almost dark tan. The one I received is dull and not as vibrant. Otherwise, it is a Hoka. Still a good product, soft, helps my back but if you are buying because of color, don't expect it to be the same as what you see on your screens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap Looking Appearance This shoe looks much better in the online photo than the actual shoe. They used a phony leather synthetic material that does not match the color of the leather. The photo online makes it look almost like a full leather upper, it is not. I really enjoy the cushioning in Hoka One One shoes, but I probably will not buy another pair for casual use because the shoes are ugly and cheap looking. At the price, this should have been a full leather upper, they doctored the photo to give the shoe a better appearance than the actual shoe. Don't be fooled.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable shoes - Terrible construction quality I bought my first pair and the toe kick/soul started separating before I could get 50 miles of use. I returned them for a second pair from the retailer and the same thing happened with the second pair. Mean while my wife's are also separating. Also the two pair I owned were NOT waterproof at all. Obviously poor quality glue and construction. Worst thing Hoka didn't want to hear anything about it. I guess they would rather bury their heads in the sand and wait for all the returns to come in from the big retailers. Maybe then they will listen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for those with foot/leg problems. I need extra cushioning because of loss of cartilage in ankle. These shoes provide excellent comfort and my custom orthotics fit nicely. Hopefully, they will hold up as I walk on the outsides of my feet. I encourage Hoka to embrace the entire sector of those with foot and legs problems. Seems like a great opportunity. I love the colors Hoka uses but would appreciate more sedate options that I could wear to work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hiker! Water tested in North Carolina last weekend. First owe was at the Overland Expo in North Carolina. It rained heavy and was a mud pit all weekend. The shoes did very well considering the cerci stances. Very impressed. Thank you for coming out with a good looking, comfortable, light hiker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for hiking I needed a new pair of hiking shoes and decided to try these out based on the saleperson's recommendation - he was an avid runner, however, and not a hiker. I took these shoes out for a few short hikes and walks on flat and well maintained trails (~1hr excursions) to break them in and they performed fine. However, once I actually ventured into the mountains and hiked for any period of time longer than 2 hours my heels and ankles began to hurt badly - worse than I have ever experienced. I have no prior foot injuries and have been an avid hiker for years so I do not think it is an issue on my end. The shoes simply are not meant for long hikes on rocky terrain. I tried them twice (9 and 12 mile hikes respectively) and both times I returned in pain. I will be returning these shoes.
