Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot! For anyone with knee or joint problems, these are great. I have bad knees (no cartilage from running over 25 years). I first purchased a pair of HOKA running shoes 2 years ago and was amazed at how I could actually run again due to the tremendous cushioning and stability. I decided to buy a pair of hiking shoes from HOKA and am equally impressed. They are extremely light --so light that I could not believe the package that arrived in the mail was actually my boots until I opened it up. They provide great impact support for my knees. They are unlike any hiking boot I have tried. I do not know how durable they are long term, since they are new, but they feel great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love em This is my 5th pair of Hokas this year prompted by my wonderful experience with the Bondi 4s. I wanted them for cold and wet weather and they haven't disappointed. They are extremely comfortable all around with great cushioning and great grip. The only issue I've had with them is that I feel a pronounced arch in the left foot. HOWEVER, I have felt this in one other pair of shoes, my Mizuno Waveriders, which run a bit narrow. SO, I think that it may have more to do with my assymetrical body. And, the feeling quickly disappears in these boots/shoes and becomes unnoticeable. I think that unless you have a wide foot, you will be extremely happy with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plane crash Great product. I was in a plane crash a few years back. Broke my femur, knees, crushed my talus bone in my ankle, hip, and crushed my left heal. These are the only shoes I've found that feel like I'm walking on the same quality cushion as the orthopedic boot I first walked on, when first off crutches. I started with the Hoka running shoe, which is even more comfortable. I limped around for a good portion of everyday day for a couple of years before I found this company. Now, I can do most anything with the family, including short hikes, Disney, etc. Truly improved quality of life for me. Anytime I wear another shoe, I hurt, from just walking around. I usually don't leave reviews, but this is a life saver for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! I have been waiting for a thick soled boot that can handle supporting me while I hike (200+ lbs). One of the greatest benefits of these boots for me is that I have numerous back problems and disabilities and these provide me a way to get back into the woods. They are cushioned enough so that my degenerative back problems do not kick up after a hike with these whereas every other boot I tried did not perform this way. Thank God for anti-minimalist shoes for those of us who can't run around barefoot! These are a God-send.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good first impression I have narrow feet so it is hard to find shoes that fit. I currently wear the Mafata Speed for running and hiking. I have tried several other Hokas. The fit is inconsistent from model to model so, I tried these hikers in Men's 7.5 and Women's 8.5. The women's 8.5 did seem to fit me better as far as width, but my heel slipped more because the heel collar is thinner, therefore I kept the men's 7.5. After a few hikes they still felt slightly big so, I ordered the men's 7 which seems to be working better. Other than trying to find the right fit, the shoe felt great right out of the box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good boot but lacking in forefoot height or webbing Do a lot of hiking in the Rockies on varied terrain, on and off trail. Finding a "motion control" hiking boot is not easy, so the Hoka Tor Summit seemed like a really good find. In many ways it is a good find: light, (mostly) comfortable, has decent cushioning, seems well constructed, and is torsionally solid (unlike the soft, wobbly Tor Ultra). The one big drawback for me - and perhaps some others with forefoot toe problems (mine is a higher big toe) - is that the toe box is relatively short vertically. There's only so much one can get from stretching. Were it a bit taller (or perhaps used more webbing), then the boot would work well for my needs. Frustrating to find a boot so good in many ways where one key element has been short changed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SHOES FELL APART QUICKLY I was excited to get these much talked about shoes! They were very expensive ($195 with shipping) but I was looking forward to finally getting real "quality". Sadly enough, the shoes could not even handle daily wear and literally FELL APART with 3 months! I should have known when the shoe laces broke within a few weeks on both shoes. Cheap $50 sneakers have significantly outlasted these very expensive shoes by months!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing boot Wore these right out of the box for a 2 day, 12 mile hike/hunt. Took them through creeks, up steep terrain, and through muddy deer trails. These might be the best boots I've ever worn. We'll see how they hold up over time. With plantar fasciitis, I need a boot with a lot of support and after this hunt I have absolutely zero pain. Now if Hoka would make an authorized military boot I'd own nothing but Hoka's!
