The Hoka One One Men's Odyssey Shoe is a lightweight running shoe for a cushioned run on the road. At only 8.4 ounces (based on size 9), you're flying fast down the road and in plenty of comfort thanks to Oversize cushioning. The full EVA midsole is an excellent shock absorber and Early-Stage Meta-Rocker encourages your foot to transition from heel strike to forefoot smoothly. The rubber pods underfoot are quite minimal, creating a balancing act between durability, cushion, and a touch of traction.

Great all around running shoeThese are my second pair. I was starting to get little knee and hip pains when running 10+ miles on some other shoes and these shoes helped that to go away instantly. Like running on pillows, I found them to be light weight and fast. They took a couple of runs to get used to with the extra cushioning, but I grew to really like the way they propel you forward. I now use them in short and long distance training. The only real con is the tread can scuff and wear down a little prematurely, but it did not impact actual run performance and I got over 450 miles out of my first pair. I would highly recommend these to any level of runner.

Second pairThis is my second pair of Odyssey's. This is my go to model of Hoka's. I also train in a pair of Clifton 2's and do speed work and race in a pair of Huaka's. But I reach for the Odyssey's on most days, long runs especially. I got started wearing Hoka's when I purchased a pair of the original Cliftons. I am not as fond of the Clifton 2's and I think one of the main reasons I like the Odyssey so well is it reminds me of the original Cliftons a lot. I am a fan of the thin tongue and the Odyssey has that and the Clifton 2's don't. Also, while both the Cliftons and the Odyssey are very cushioned, I like the slightly firmer feel of the Odyssey. This would be a shoe I would recommend to anyone.

I like the Cliftons betterI have run in 3 different Hoka's with the Clifton's being my favorite due to great cushioning, being super light, and great road feel as they are closer to the ground than the other Hoka's. The Odyssey is almost the same shoe as the Clifton, but weighs a touch more (really can't tell the difference), but rides higher and has a bit more cushion. Really the difference is personal perference as both are really similar, but I like the road feel of the Clifton's a bit beter. For reference I'm 5'10", 160 lbs, run 50-60 miles a week, and have used Hoka's for everthing from a 3 miler to a full marathon.

Good but not GreatI'm a tri/run coach and currently run mostly ultra's. Hokas are a staple in my closet: Clifton,Mafate,Challenger,Huaka and now Odyssy. The shoe itself has good cushioning without being to soft. The wide base gives you that Hoka stabil ride. A good shoe for long runs. The shoe itself has the same Hoka fit which means it may be a little tight through the toebox. The biggest draw back is the forefoot is way to inflexible and rigid and does not allow for a quality toe off. A shoe I would recommend for long slow runs but not built for speed.

Grand Slam!Since discovering Hokas 2 years ago, they are the only shoes I have had on my feet. They are my "daily drivers" all day long. I have bilateral knee replacements and am very busy, on my feet standing, movin and shakin all day long and these shoes have made all the difference in the world! Definitely game changers! I have tried quite a few different models and this one just might be at the top of my list. Max cushioning, more normal coloring( black) and generous width for folks with wide feet make this model my new favorite.

was not able to use this shoe due to fit problemThis was the 3rd pair of Hoka running shoes that I purchased. I really like the style, color, and it was the lightest running shoe I ever had. however, I had to return the shoe due to the fact it was narrower than any of the other Hoka shoes I purchased. It was the same size as the others, but much narrower and it hurt the outside portion of my feet. I may try a half size larger, but did they change the format in which they mnake their shoes. The other 2 pair I purchased were so much more comfortable. Rich

Amazing and a game changerIt's incredible that a pair of shoes can make such a difference. My treadmill has a built in shock absorbing system but my knees and back had taken such a pounding that I was about to give up running. The first day wearing these, I broke my 2.5 mile PR and woke up feeling great the next day. Two weeks later, my 3 mile time is now faster than my 2.5 mile time before these and no back or knee pain or soreness at all. That's at 280 pounds and 18 miles per week not counting walks. It's gotta be the shoes!

Comfortable!I have had 5 (or maybe 6, I kind of forget) knee operations. Granted, only one was a major reconstruction of the ACL but I think the others still count. As such, I had to give up soccer and jogging is not something I can do every day. I read quite a bit about Hoka One Ones and pretty much all of it was good so I decided to give a pair a try.
They are great. Super comfy and I had no issues jogging (if my now very non-athletic looking moving-faster-than-a-walk can still be labelled as such) down the street in them! I'm impressed with the cushioning for my joints and the fit is very good as well. I'd love to see a "normal" looking shoe made by Hoka One One but these are not the most obnoxious jogging shoes out there, by far, so I'll deal with the glitter.
Overall, a very good purchase and well worth it for the comfort gained!
