Rated 2 out of 5 by from questionable durability! I've tried 3 different pairs of Conquests, and although extremely comfortable, the material on the outside heel of the sole wears out VERY QUICKLY. I was shocked that after 50 miles with my first pair that I could see "white" underneath the "black" part of the sole. I took back to my local running store and they gave me a new pair. Same thing. Wore out very quickly. Frankly, I'm not sure if running with these shoes does more harm than good, but they're still like running on clouds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I was very disappointed!!Quality did not meet expectations this shoe is designed for heavy runners 200# plus. it is extremely rigid, no flexing in the middle, feels like you are running with two bricks. it is too narrow, the tongue is too thin and slides towards the front. The shoe laces become loose in a few steps. Very uncomfortable, causes pain in all my leg muscles. This is the worst running shoe I've ever used and I have been running for years!!! I would never recommend this shoe to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jury Still Out My running coach suggested the Conquest 2 to prevent injuries. The shock prevention seems to be working fine, but the feel is sloshy as if my feet were wet. My foot doesn't feel locked in place, even though the size is correct. The unique minimalist tongue design has caused blisters on top of my foot. I use running specific socks, and that didn't prevent the irritation. For me the jury is still out, I don't have 100% confidence in the shoe yet. if the trade off is no injuries, it is worth it....I guess.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe - still some tinkering to do Another very good shoe by Hoka. A bit "tighter" and perhaps less forgiving than other models, but it loosens after several uses and provides excellent traction and the unequaled balance and leg support customary of Hoka shoes. My one concern with Hoka is that the tongues on the shoes may benefit from better design - in my experience the tongue either folds onto itself (which is uncomfortable and requires tinkering in a run) or in this particular case, the tongue rides down the laces as you run - not cool. Still, an excellent shoe that is fit for long mileage and a great ride.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best and Worst shoes I've ever had They feel better than any other shoe I've ever run in. The cushioning feels great. My joints and body in general feel better running in these shoes. My problem with them is the durability. The tread is already worn out in just 167 miles (with probably half of that on grass). They are worn worse than shoes I've run more than 400 miles in. The tongue is already peeling and the upper stains my socks on every run. To be fair it is summer and I'm a very heavy sweater. My suggestion is to improve the quality of the tread, upper and laces so that the cushioning can actually be taken advantage of(I will take a heavier shoe if it lasts longer). This is an expensive shoe, that should last a while. If it was more durable, you'd have a customer for life. As of now, I doubt I'll fork out the cash for another pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality and Cushion I was surprised by the quality of the Hoka Conquests. At the heel, the black band that goes around is thick/dense rubber, the interim rubber between sole and tread is beefy. The quality compared to NB, Adidas or Nike, these are very durable in molding of the sole and connection to the upper nylon material, even the nylon is more rugged than most major running shoes. This is NOT a minimalist shoe but still they feel light. They firmly hold your foot in place. I'm a heavier runner, 190 lbs. While the Conquest 2 isn't overly cushiony, it definitely has a soft impact feel. My only complaint is the toe box could be a little wider. I'm not sure about marathons but for 5k - 10k these shoes fit my need. I would like to try another softer Hoka possibly the Clifton's for a daily wear around/running shoe. I have been seeking a more forgiving running shoe but wanted something light weight. I also was tired of wearing out a shoe in only a few months. I'm now sold on Hoka's and would definitely recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Conquest 2 -First 25 miles Ran 10 miles "out of the box". Felt great! Loved the cushion and better for my back and knees. Big bummer though. Black rubber worn off heals in 10-15 miles. I have 25 on them and running on thicker, soft second layer. NOT lasting long enough to justify price:(.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not up to Hoka par I've been running on Hoka Stinson Lites on the road, and love them, but they've got some miles on them, so I decided to try the Conquests. To be fair, I've only run one 7 mile run in them, but on that run here's what I noticed: 1. The cushioning is not as soft as on the Stinsons. Okay, so maybe that makes it more responsive, but it also makes it stiffer and provides less cushion (why have maximalist cushioning if it's stiff and doesn't give?). And really, it felt kind of dead to me. 2. My shoes came untied 3 times during the run. That never happens to me. 3. The tongue does this weird thing where it rides down into the shoe. 4. At about mile 6 it started rubbing the top of my big toe. A 20 mile run would result in blisters, methinks. The caveat: I've only used these once. I'm hoping they'll soften up over time, and maybe they'll be better on longer runs.
