The Nallo 2 Person Tent by Hilleberg. In essence, the Nallo and its extended vestibule version, the Nallo GT, are the ultralight versions of the Nammatj and Nammatj GT. They excel in any situation where the lightest possible tent is needed, but where true all season strength and reliability might be required. Both tents' tunnel tent design and ultra light weight make them ideal for mobile adventures, where you move your tent every day. And, because of their exceptional weight to space ratio, they are perfect for long distance endeavors where light weight is a greater priority than absolute strength. Certainly, they are suitable for exposed and/or above treeline use in all seasons, but because they are built using Hilleberg's ultralight Kerlon 1200, 9 mm poles, and lighter gauge zippers, they do not have the same strength as their Nammatj cousins. That said, Kerlon 1200, with its 12 kilo tear strength, is an order of magnitude stronger even than most so-called "expedition grade" fabrics, and so is easily robust enough to handle adverse situations well.

The Nallo and Nallo GT's salient characteristic may be their ultra light weight, but both are still fully able to handle all season, all weather adventures. This explains why these tents are the first choice of those needing the lightest weight tents that still offer all-season, all weather functionality. This includes wilderness photographers, professional climbers, hunters, and other adventurers who have to carry large amounts of gear, as well as long distance hikers, who want to get more out of carrying less. Globe-trotting trekkers often carry the Nallo, as it ensures they will have private accommodations wherever they go, and solo hikers love having near-palatial space without any real weight penalty. Families with younger children and those who hike with their dogs love the extra space - and, of course, the ultra light weight - the Nallo GT has to offer.

FEATURES of the Hilleberg Nallo 2 Person Tent

  • Outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which make tent very lightweight and give stability to tent
  • Outer tent walls can be extended to the ground and mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels
  • Tunnel construction provides maximum space to weight ratio which is an ideal choice for mobile journeys
  • This tent can be used ideally for two people
  • Separable inner and outer tent for simultaneous pitching
  • Single entrance with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space
  • Add on the optional footprint that will cover the entire tent and vestibule and can be left attached to the tent even when pitching
  • Inner tent is replaceable by a mesh inner tent
  • The outer and inner tents can be used separately by moving detachable pole holder from the outer to the inner tent
  • Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
  • Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
  • Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent
  • Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection
  • Designed using lighter weight zippers and inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. I spend a lot of time in the backcountry every year. Starting in early August its hot in the Ruby mountains of NV. All the way through snow flying in the SW section of Colorado. The Nallo2 is a fortress ! I would NOT recommend for 2 adults. 2 children or teens yes. But as a single it is a beast and the best I have ever used. NOTE: The green soaked up the direct sunlight and became a hot box. I would recommend using tree cover to shade during peak sun hours during the day. Or use the optional footprint and trekking poles to create a canopy. The ventilation is GREAT and absolutely zero condensation each morning. At multiple times I was sheltered in my Nallo2 during serious high country lightning/rain storms. ZERO and I mean ZERO leaks as myself and all of my gear stayed dry. I am 6'0 tall and had plenty of room to keep my clothes , pack, food and boots dry and warm in my tent and provided vestibule . Plenty of room to sit up and read at night or get dressed. Hilleberg is the best tent maker for a reason. You get what you pay for and I will ONLY use Hillegerg tents in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from built like a brick shithouse i'm the proud owner of two hillebergs, one of which being the nallo 2. i've read through the reviews, and yes, condensation is an issue. however, you show me a tent that doesn't collect condensation in the winter and i'll show you a monkey that can do the macarena. they all do,every make, every model, so quit your whining. fact of the matter is that this tent is a storm fortress, the likes of which odin himself would most likely prefer to spend the night in. take a gander at the testimonials on the hilleberg site. and pay close attention to the one dated 10/10/12.,,,,chris,,Fairbanks, AK,,,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best two-person tents money can buy! I have used this quality tent for a season and have nothing but good things to say. It easily survived a torrential hail storm in Bozeman where lesser tents either blew away or collapsed. I took it down to the Wind Rivers for a week-long expedition with a friend, and we were pleased with how much space it has and how easy it is to set up (once you get past the initial learning curve!). Plus it packs small and has a relatively light weight. My only gripe is that it must be staked out, not a problem except where all you have to work with is rocky ground. But overall, I love this tent and am proud to be the owner of a "Hilleberg," so much so that I went out and bought their Akto for solo use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent I am writing this because I saw another person's negative review of this tent. The Nallo is a fine tent. I have owned one for four years and have taken it all over Alaska, both backpacking and floating. The tent has performed nicely in rain, snow, and sun, with few ventilation problems. I really like the fact that I can roll it out in a rainstorm and set it up without the interior getting wet. I recommend clipping the ground cloth to the tent. The ground cloth covers the vestibule floor and is nice for setting up the tent on wet ground. Perhaps the user with ventilation problems did not have a ground cloth... that might result in more moisture entering the structure if the door is fully zipped up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring a towel... Get ready to get wet Used this tent in a mid-May Mt Baker 6-day trip. It was warm/sunny during the day and slightly above freezing during the night. ,,Despite having faced the tent to the prevailing wind and having left the vestibule/inner liner partially open, we had a significant amount of condensation in the morning. In addition; because the tent is a tight squeeze for two average sized guys (5'9" / 165 lb) I couldn't help but touch the inner liner either while rolling around in my sleep or while getting dressed in the morning ending up with a wet face during my sleep and a wet sleeping bag in the morning.,,I've used other Hilleberg tents and couldn't be happier with their performance (bomber, good condensation removal, roomy, lightweight, etc). I was disappointed by the Nallo's performance. Save your money and buy the Hilleberg Kaitum or the MH Trango.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, Bombproof. Incredible, Strong Design. Also Tornado-Proof. My boyfriend & I lived out of the Nallo 2 for four months straight, road tripping across the US, in conditions ranging from snow & ice to 100-degree heat to complete downpours with tornado warnings nearby.,,,,Pros:,,- Srong, durable, incredibly fast & easy to set up, fairly lightweight,,- Can be set up simply with four stakes, though not free-standing, or can use guidelines for sturdiness in high winds,,- Awesome bathtub floor,,- Sparks from fire instantly extinguished, no holes,,- Great for stealth camping,,,,Cons:,,- A bit cramped for two people. We're both small & generally had no problems, but the ceiling is low inside, as in you can't sit up without slouching, & I'm only 5'5.",,- Heats up fast in the summer & traps heat, but that's great for winter,,- Collects lots condensation inside in cold conditions, with or without the back vent open. The problem someone mentioned of getting dressed & also a morning shower is true. Isn't worth the tent losing even one star for me though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best tent I have ever owned! Bring on the Hurricanes! I bought this tent hoping it would be good for our travels around the world. It needed to be good in high winds, good at a high altitude, last for ten years hopefully, and work well in all four seasons. It has worked amazing in all but two of these situations(First off, I haven't had it for ten years!). The second issue I have with it is that it is HOT. I would not consider this a four season tent unless you bought the mesh inner tent with it, and that would mean you would have to carry more weight. As soon as the sun would rise we would wake up drenched in sweat. To be honest it was miserable to try to stay inside in direct sun. Even just using the rain fly (You can set it up independent of the tent) it was still pretty toasty inside. Also the rain fly is pretty translucent as it lets lots of sunlight in, also lets in the heat. Doesn't feel like you are in shade at all. I would also recommend carrying a tarp simply for the shade! Bombproof yes, 4 Season Summer Sauna YES!
