The Hilleberg Kaitum 2 Person Tent is an all season tent for trekking various types of backcountry. The Kaitum 2 is a tunnel design, offering two doors and two vestibules. While the Hilleberg Red Label tents are lighter in weight (than the stronger black label tents), they also balance all season strength for various conditions. The durable Kerlon 1200 fabric touches the ground to block out drafts and weather, protecting you, your camping buddy, and gear. A bathtub floor design prevents ground water from seeping inside from below. The vents in each vestibule provide snow-proof air flow. Can't hate on a cool breeze during a warm night.

FEATURES of the Hilleberg Kaitum 2 Person Tent

  • Outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which makes tent very lightweight and adds stability

Hilleberg Red Label Tents

Hilleberg Red Label Tents
Red Label Tents are built for both short and longer trips in generally less demanding conditions in all seasons, such as less exposed mountain terrain, forests in both winter and summer, and the like, but where you still may encounter severe situations. Their emphasis on lighter weight makes them less than ideal for harsh environments and extended adventures in demanding conditions. They are, however, quite capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions. Experienced users sometimes choose these tents for more demanding adventures because they knowingly accept the trade off of strength for lighter weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'll never buy anything but Hilleberg again This is the best two person tent ever. It is huge! It actually accommodates two people without any problem whatsoever. It is only 15 cm narrower than my previous three person tent. The ends of the inner are vertical, letting you use the entire area. The two vestibules are big enough for gear and cooking. Setting it up is easy for two, but I've set it up many times on my own. The quality is great, the design is great, workmanship flawless, and it can take a beating. It's a lot of money for a tent, but you won't be sorry. Only con is that it is over 4 meters long.,,If you need something even more robust the Keron might be a better choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a combination of top-quality materials and typically brilliant swedish design. Pros.,,continuous pole sleeves,,fly-first pitch,,2 doors and 2 vestibules of equal size,,many anchor points, w/ line and tensioners attached,,zipper placement on fly,,full mesh door panels and 2 large vents,,huge usable space,,vertical head and foot walls,,clothesline and pockets,,4 season use,,durability/ value,,,,Cons.,,not very compact/ ultralight,,not very easy to separate for packing, wt. distribution,,large area needed to pitch,,high cost investment,,,,many features of the Kaitum 2 show that a lot of thought went into the design. i would not hesitate to buy it again, or to recommend it to someone who wants an above-average, highly durable all-season tent.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilleberg Kaitum 2 Person Tent Great tent, quick to install, has good waterproof properties, but very expensive. If I buy another tent (but apparently it will not be soon, as this just fantastic in all its properties), it will be a tent company - Hilleberg.

How heavy and what are the dimensions of this tent when it is packed up for backpacking?

Asked by: Big Backpacker
Hey Big Backpacker! Thanks for the awesome question. This tent weighs roughly 5.6 pounds. When it is all packed up and ready to be taken backpacking it is 7 x 19 inches. I sure hope this helps!
