The Hilleberg Jannu 2 Person Tent is an alpine tent for keeping your climbing and mountaineering trips lightweight. The Jannu is ready to pitch in tight spaces and takes on the howling wind while you snag some rest after a rigorous day on the mountain. The shelter is built for two, but light enough for a solo trip for those that enjoy extra space. The domed strength of the poles take on the weight of snow as well. The durable Kerlon 1200 fabric extends all the way to the ground, blocking out drafts.
FEATURES of the Hilleberg Jannu 2 Person Tent
Outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which make the tent very lightweight and gives extra stability
Outer tent walls can be extended to the ground and mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels
The dome construction with multiple pole crossing points provide snow load handling capability
This tent is designed ideally for two persons
Single entrance tent with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space while keeping the weight ratio very low
The self-supporting dome design allows the vestibules to be pegged, and the straightforward short sleeve pole system helps provide easy and stable set up
Optional footprint covers the whole area of the outer tent, including the vestibules
Inner tent can be replaced by a mesh inner tent
The outer and inner tents can be used separately by moving the detachable pole holder from the outer to inner tent
Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent
Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection
Designed using lighter weight zippers and inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum
Single Wall, Vestibule, Free Standing
Basecamp and Expedition, Mountaineering and Alpine
We only ship this brand to US and Canadian Addresses.

Well-worth the priceSo full disclosure, I got this tent at like 50% points back which were redeemed instantly for a ton of other equipment. I wouldn't say it's worth $800 but if you can find a sale it's definitely worth 500-600. Anyways, to the review...,,,,Wonderfully quick and easy to set up, even at night with gloves. Haven't yet set it up in more than moderate wind but the hardest part is finding the zippers to the front wedge once you're done. I really should put some reflective guylines on the pulls... (introspective),,,,One reason I went with this over some high altitude tents like Rab and Black Diamond was the space (which is enough for basecamp yet small enough to sit on a ledge) and that the setup was entirely on the outside. Tents like the Firstlight require you to kind of crawl in and set up the poles whereas with the Jannu you can unpack and keep it zippered (read: sealed) shut while setting up in a blizzard. Then when you crawl in it's bone dry.

Confidence Inspiring QualityMy better half and I flew into Oregon for a 16 night camping and car trip through OR, WA, and CA, with this tent, poles, stakes etc in a checked bag with the airline. It is very portable being small, light, and tight in the supplied stuff sack. I am 6'2" 250lbs and I fit, although it took a little getting used to looking up at the inside of the tent while reclined. This is a tent for a serious backpacker and anyone who values portability and appreciates the highest quality materials with the ability to tackle four season hard core camping. Not worrying about the integrity of my tent in any weather condition is worth the extra coin. Set-up was easy and quick and I appreciate the quality of the poles, clips, zippers, washtub style sealed floor in case rain or wet snow. Mine came supplied with 15 stakes enough for most adventures. For the most extreme weather and winds you'll want to purchase extra stakes, there are additional lines you can tie down.
