The Hilleberg Allak 2 Person Tent is a free standing tent ready to be pitched in multiple ground conditions. When you're paddling along shore and aren't sure where camp will be for the night, the Allak is the tent you'll be happy you have on hand. The free standing can be pitched on rock, sand, and other difficult terrain. The outer tent comes down to the ground, protecting you and your gear from unexpected weather through the night. When camping with a buddy, make them carry the poles, so you can each bear a portion of the weight. Separate stuff sacks for the tent and poles come included. While the tent won't protect you from any interested four legged furry friends, it will provide piece of mind against the weather.

FEATURES of the Hilleberg Allak 2 Person Tent

  • The outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which make for a super lightweight and stable tent
  • All season construction tent wall can be extended to ground and mesh area and backed with adjustable fabric panel
  • Dome construction with multiple poles help provide a good snow load handling capability
  • Dual entrance tent with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space
  • Add on the optional footprint that will cover the entire tent and vestibule and can be left attached to the tent even when pitching. Footprints add extra durability, protection from the elements, and longevity to your tent's life, so for sure think about adding it to your order.
  • Please note the footprint is not included. Please don't hate me.
  • The inner and outer tent is connected but still has the ability to be separated for simultaneous pitching
  • Comfortably fits two people and their gear without making it seem cramped
  • Designed using lighter weight zippers as well as inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum
  • Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
  • Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
  • Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent. It's all about the weight.
  • Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection

Hilleberg Red Label Tents

Hilleberg Red Label Tents
Red Label Tents are built for both short and longer trips in generally less demanding conditions in all seasons, such as less exposed mountain terrain, forests in both winter and summer, and the like, but where you still may encounter severe situations. Their emphasis on lighter weight makes them less than ideal for harsh environments and extended adventures in demanding conditions. They are, however, quite capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions. Experienced users sometimes choose these tents for more demanding adventures because they knowingly accept the trade off of strength for lighter weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but worth it The fly is attached to the inner so you can have them both attached, put the poles in and it's pretty much setup freestanding. With the guy lines pegged in, it's not going anywhere, in any storm.,,,,Every night I sleep condensation free and am able to control ventilation quite easily with both the doors. There are also two vents underneath the canopy that can be opened without the need to keep the outside fly open thus letting water in. ,,,,The only problem I found was that whilst putting the poles in, you had to line up each one to the colour on the other side which was tabbed with a small piece of fabric. These were shiny but still very tricky to find at night time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and easy set up of a bombproof tent. Returned a RAB Latok tent for this and have never regretted it once, the Allak is worth its price and then some. Moosejaw was great in helping with the return and making the choice of the Allak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and lightweight tent. The Hilleberg Allak is a very strong and lightweight tent. There is plenty of room for two persons along with your gear. Top quality as you would expect from Hilleberg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tent for the strength, space, and weight. Rain and snow glide beautifully off the outer tent. Chose this over the Staika for best of both worlds in protection and ventilation. In the warmer months you can open both doors of the outer tent, drop down the inner tent solid fabric (exposing only the mesh) and see straight through the tent on both sides to the outdoors. Surprisingly, this vents well in the rain by adjusting the top vents and tops of the doors to be slightly opened as well to vent (covered by the top canopy). Easily fits me (5'7") another 6ft or under person, two 40lb dogs, and gear in the vestibule spaces (get the footprint for added vestibule protection/condensation reduction). Super easy set up even in windy conditions. Crazy strong when guyed out. Easy to split the load between two people if need be. Hilleberg has amazing customer service. These tents are pricey. I have yet to regret getting any of the three I have owned. Blow away the competition in quality and max strength for the weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from And the winner is..... I have spent weeks researching which tent will be the best tent for my one month rafting trip down the Grand Canyon this winter. The tent is just for me, but I wanted a two person tent, because there will be lay over days, and because I am rafting I do not have to worry about the extra weight. After researching every brand i came across, I chose the pricy Hilleberg Allak 2 because of the following reasons: 1) all reviews pointed to the quality of craftsmanship. This was an investment I could count on keeping me warm in the winter, yet has great access and ventilation for those warmer nights. 2) Easy to put up. When I find myself in a winter storm, or downpour, I do not have to worry about the inner tent getting wet because the inner tent is attached to the outer -- making putting it up easy and keeping me and my stuff dry. 3) I love having the two vestibules for the times I will share the tent. 4) I love having the two doors for ventilation and view. Can't wait to break it in down in the canyon this winter!
