The Hilleberg Akto 1 Person Tent is a solo tent for all season protection on backpacking trips. The tent weighs in at two pounds and thirteen ounces while packing down super small, fitting in most side pockets on backpacks. Boasting an inner tent area of 18.3 feet squared, you'll have enough elbow room for sitting and sleeping with a vestibule for gear. Enjoy a spacious rest after trekking 15 plus miles a day. The name "Akto" fits your solo adventures, meaning "alone" in the Sami language. Don't worry, the beauty of nature and that cute mountain lion will be with you too.
FEATURES of the Hilleberg Akto 1 Person Tent
The outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which makes for a super lightweight and stable tent
Offers a nice amount of room for being such a light tent, and can be used all seasons
Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent
Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection
Designed using lighter weight zippers and inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum
The mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels, so when the outer tent walls extend all the way to the ground the mesh moves with it freely
The tunnel construction makes taking along on hiking trips super easy without breaking your back, thanks to its maximum space to weight ratio
Comfortably fits one person and their gear without making it seem cramped
The inner and outer tent is connected but has the ability to be separated for simultaneous pitching
Features guy lines, integrated door and vents, fiberglass rods, zipper flaps, and a pocket to stay organized. Amazing.
To do a basic pitching, you really only need the four pegs in the head and foot end guy lines plus the single-opening continuous pole sleeve and tensioner system. Super stable and easy.
Single entrance tent with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space
Add on the optional footprint (not included) that will cover the entire tent and vestibule and can be left attached to the tent even when pitching. Footprints add extra durability, protection from the elements, and longevity to your tent's life, so for sure think about adding it to your order.
For added customization and versatility, the inner tent can be replaced with a Mesh Inner tent. Mesh Inner tent is not included, please don't hate us.
Experience total flexibility with the outer and inner tents' capability of being used separately
Pitching the inner tent on its own will require the purchasing of optional pole holders as they are not included. Sorry I bragged about them earlier.
Tent comes with all the pegs, poles, and lines you need to get setup, but grabbing a few extras wouldn’t be a bad thing
Hilleberg offers a variety of accessories to go along with this tent, which allow for additional stability, flexibility, and durability when you will need it most
Please note on the colors that the actual tent color can vary from the one pictured due to the natural variations of fabric dyes

Best 1 person 4 season tent on the marketThe akto is by far the best choice for lightweight 4 season adventures and can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. This tent is made from extremely durable "kerlon 1200" which has a tear strength of 26.5lbs. The roof is 36inches high which gives you quite a bit of headroom for a 4 season tent that only weighs 3lbs 12oz (packed). I have used this tent backpacking/car camping and have never been disappointed. It's also one of the most breathable tents I've ever owned which allows it to perform flawlessly in wet conditions. After 100+ nights of use (non consecutive) it shows absolutely no signs of wear. You cant go wrong with a Hillberg.

Color variation to extremeI am a big fan of Hilleberg. This is not my first Hilleberg tent. However, it is the first one I have ordered from an independent retailer and not directly from Hilleberg. I got a little discount but now I know why. The Hilleberg site says you should expect some variation in color shades. I got a black tent that is supposed to be green. Would be great for Doomsday but I think there is a good reason companies don't sell black tents. Should be quite the heat seeker:( Hilleberg must send the off colors to other companies. I am very disappointed and may consider a different brand and company in the future. Wish I could add some pictures. The pics tell a good story.

light and roomy but space hungryThis is for tent people who don't like the idea of being wrapped like a cheap hotdog in a bivy all night. I have been bombed overnight with snow and thrashed with wind while setting this thing up and say it is the best tent I have in my quiver. The 2 wall construction breathes great in the winter and since they are connected, I can pitch in the wet and not worry about getting the inner tent soaked. The vestibule fits all my winter gear with room to spare and is bigger than the ones in my 3p. All this comes at a price... it takes up much more space in my pack than my bivy but is well worth it when a storm rolls in.

If you're trekking solo or don't mind Pocahontas tightly spooning w/ you, the Akto is your destiny. The weight of this thing (or lack thereof) is amazing. I can literally fit this tent under a few straps on the OUTSIDE of my pack. At first look, one is certain this fabric will rip...but I assure you, Hilleberg knows what they're doing. It's build with big toughness. Condensation: Yes...it can happen. I slept in Moab at 17Deg F and 1st night woke up with my vapor frozen to the top. The next night I opened the end vents and unzipped slightly off-set the velcro window on the inner tent and BAM...no condensation the next night at 15deg F. Guy it out correctly and it fends off weather amazingly well. Get the footprint to have a much larger dry area for stowing your gear.

bright interior well vented easy setupGreat light weight tent bright interior. Outside colors are much darker than the online pictures I got the green which is really a dark forest green. Setup was easy from the first time I would suggest bringing a mallet or hatchet to make driving the stakes in easier in harder ground. Big zipper loops make it easy to zip/unzip with gloves on, dry pitching in the rain/wind is fairly easy worth the high price tag. Plus calling in your order with moosejaw is easy and fun no boring on hold music in stead speeches from WWII which is a classy touch. Would highly reccomend this tent,, to your mother.

Bigger is betterBought this tent for a high country elk hunt in colorado. At 10,700ft is sept, it had terrible condensation, sleeping bag foot end would get wet, inner tent has massive droop. Nothing worse than trying to wriggle out of a tiny tent in the morning. Vestibule is small, can not seem to get the pitch right (tension wise). It did hold up to rain and wind, if I would have known better from the start I would have spent the extra 300 bucks for a nallo. Don't get me wrong, hille's are awesome tents, just got a sour taste using this one in the back country in conditions that were fair.

A very reliable shelter, in any weatherBought the tent in 2011, in red (more sexy, easier to find). Quality workmanship. Despite its size it is roomy inside, and I (189 cm) can sit up inside the tent. There is also a good space for the bags in the vestibule. The tent is very stable, and cabn handle any weather.,,,,You have to be aware of condensation in colder weather. But if you open the zippers at the foot and head end, pluss at the top of the inner and outer tent door there are no problems. Be sure to have enough airflow.

knowing from using other tents, looks like a great product.Everything looks well thought out. I own a single wall which I dislike because of the condensation, this double wall should help alot. The Akto is also about a foot longer, I really disliked my toes and head constantly hitting the frost on the ends of the "other" tent. ,,,,Just got it though, I'm not sure why you don't wait a month or so to ask for a review.
