Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, Small, and Comfortable I bought this chair for some general backpacking/car camping and ended up taking it on a kayak camping trip down the river and am I glad that I found room for it. It comes in a convenient carrying case, but if you're really trying to save space, it can break down and fit into many different nooks and crannies. This chair was great, but the only reason it gets 4 stars is because it doesn't always have the best support in sand like I've seen in some videos of similar chairs. Bottom Line: Worth the investment, stable on fairly solid ground, comfortable, easy to pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chair, multiple uses After hiking all day, the last thing I wanted to do was sit on the ground. The Helinox chair is really comfortable, so comfy you don't want to get up to finish setting up camp. I like the fact that it keeps you off the ground and is the perfect height for me when getting up and down. I love the fact that when I stop for 15 minutes or so to take a break, i can put the chair together (in less than a minute) and put my pack in the chair, keeping it off the ground. The other use (which I love) is I use this to prop myself up in my tent. I don't insert the legs into the brackets, and laying the chair on its back I can sit in the chair, in my tent in comfort. Multi usese!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Size does matter! Got a couple of these and I must say they are absolutely fantastic. Got nothing but "wows" when friends saw how small this thing packs down to compared to those massive chairs that can hold a beer in the arm rest. Isn't that what the top of a cooler is for? I can easily strap 2 of these to my Kelty pack frame for a great day hike. I tip I found and use are to place tennis balls on the feet of the chair to keep you from sinking into the sand or soft soil. Overall after sitting in this baby for hours on end, it's a great asset to my gear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Amazing but one big problem.... I used my Helinox almost daily for the last 5 months living in the mountains in NorCal. It is an amazing design and extremely comfy, but I just recently noticed that the internal bungee cords are beginning to fray quite badly, to the point where I can foresee them breaking within the next few months. I can imagine that the company that makes them knows about this issue and hopefully they're searching for a better material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdoor Lazy Boy! This thing is awesome for some low key car camping, the days of folding up sleeping pads is over! I like this one a little more than the competitors just for the face that it seems a little more heavy duty, it's a little wider which is nice as well. Folds up into a small package which is also a dream.,,,,Too much for backpacking though, well at least coming from someone with an ultra light view.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy This is easily the comfiest camp chair I've ever sat in. The package for it is actually rather small maybe too heavy for backpacking but that all depends on what else you bring. It is not as tall as a normal camp chair but you'll hardly notice the difference. sometimes I wish the back rest would be higher but it's still an amazing product and I do not regret the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leave some food, take this chair Just spent 4 days hiking in smokeys in rain.when camped and hunkered under tarp,I had a dry butt and was able to enjoy the rain.Companions had rough time dragging rocks, logs etc.under cover.Comes in nice bag,but you can do without and save 2oz.That puts the weight under 2 lbs.Best thing since backpacks. It's awesome, buy one you will thank me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This chair rocks! Great chair! It packs up small: this chair & a Helinox Table can fit into my Osprey Daylite with room for an Alite Mantis chair. I took all that to Ravinia for an outdoor summer concert. With the Helinox Table, you get a side table with 2 integrated cupholders.,,,,Setup & tear-down is a breezy. It may take a minute or so longer than with large camping chairs, but you can't beat the size when packed away, especially when wading through a crowd at the end of the evening.,,,,If you have bad knees or difficulty getting up, you might want to see if you can check this chair out before investing some $$$ on it. It is lower to the ground (about 12-13”) than some camping chairs. However, compared to the Alite Mantis, it's slightly higher. The legs/feet hold up well, but on softer ground (sand, wet dirt, etc), it will sink. You can avoid it by placing something with a wider surface area under each leg (e.g. disc).,,,,A great chair that is not only convenient, but a fun conversation piece.
