We all love the comfort and versatility of the Daisy-chain. But in its traditional version it can lead to wrong uses and become therefore dangerous. In fact no DC on the market is guaranteed to the CE values of 22kN, like the quick draws or the carabiners. Therefore it can be the “weak ring” of the system, mainly when used in belaying. The pockets of a classical daisy chain have a very low loading strength which never exceeds the 2kN because they are designed for static load only, and consequently the only safe way to use a daisy chain as a sling is between the two end loops. The Dyneema sling is so thin that can cut itself when in traction. Grivel has studied the problem over a long period of time, and has come up with the problem solving GDC. Today Grivel can offer a chain guaranteed to 22kN in every loop and every point! No more possibility of error, and no risk of mistake or dangerous maneuvers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Personal Anchor, By Far Truth is, most personal anchor tethers are pretty similar. At the end of the day, this Grivel model takes the cake for a few reasons:,,-Bomber build quality with impeccable stitching,,-Carabiner end has a tough silicone sleeve that keeps your biner perfectly oriented to make cross loading next to impossible (you want a small locker for this end or it'll be a really tight squeeze). ,,- Long enough to be useful,,-Dyneema construction so it's light and thin,,-Looks sexy,,,,For cleaning the anchors on sport routes, extending the rappel, anchoring at rap stations, dealing with multiple followers at the anchor, belaying from the anchor, or gym use this is a really handy (but not indispensable) thing to carry.,,,,Remember... If you are in a position where you are not loading the personal anchor or there is no way to avoid significant slack in the tether then please use the rope directly with a clove hitch since it will be dynamic in case of a fall. Otherwise, this thing is completely safe.
