The Candela Tool by Grivel is a new tool to remove the ice core frozen inside ice screws. Fold-out hook to pull cord through Abalakov anchor (V-thread) and retractable blade to cut cord or sling material. Clip it to your harness or stash inside a screw (soft plastic material won't scratch a screw's surface finish).

"Does what its supposed to do and a little more" 06/25/11

A bit flimsy, don't clip it to your harness unless you want to break it. Stows nicely inside a 22 cm screw. The razor blade that is meant for cutting webbing is a bit of a joke and given the flexible plastic shaft has a tendency to pop off. Carrying a knife would be better than relying on this feature. The hook is adequate for making threads, nice and thin, long enough and just the right bend. I'd say this is better than everything else out there (short of a coathanger) but still not great and a bit gimicky.
