This pack is super comfortable and adequately large without costing a fortune like some of Gregory's other packs. The size is great for me because it is well roomy enough for overnight and weekend trips and really makes me be thoughtful and consider what is important for week long trips. Definitely recommended.
Gregory is where it's at. The quality and functionality are great. There aren't crazy amounts of pockets or compartments, but there definitely is room to stuff your gear. The main compartment is very spacious. the harness is good, but nowhere near as comfortable as the the Baltoro. I think this is an amazing entry-intermediate level bag.
I bought this pack a couple of months ago and it has worked perfectly. So far I've been to Japan and Switzerland with it and can't complain at all. The straps are comfortable, there's plenty of room inside and I love the zippers and pockets it has. I used to have another pack with just top access and now that I have the Z65 I wouldn't get anything else. I also got it on a special for a great price so keep an eye for one of those.. The overall experience with it has been great.
i bought this pack where i could get my mystery gift but i've been needing one for a while. i haven't taken it on the trail yet but i did use it as my carry on bag on my way to colorado for some boarding. everything seems to work great, sits on my back comfy, and you can get it pretty small once you learn all the straps
This pack is great. It's lightweight compared to similar-volume packs, and especially for the price. The straps tighten the bag well, so if you're carrying less than 65 liters, it won't feel like it. The suspension is great - the hipbelt is comfortable and adjustable and bears most of the weight of the pack without cutting into me. The front-zip pocket has a surprising amount of space - enough for my rain gear and a backup garbage bag, at least, and the front zip to the main pocket is very handy for getting into the pack mid-hike. Don't load it up with too much weight, though - in my experience, 35 lbs carries well. 50 lbs. does not.
This is an extremely nice pack. Not a ton of pockets, but plenty of space. Easy access from the side or top. The straps are very comfortable, and easy to adjust. When adjusted properly, the weight is distributed nicely, and is easy to carry. Includes a internal pocket to store a hydration pack. Well made product.
I tried on a few different packs, but the main seller of this one was the padding on the harness.I recently had back surgery, but the split padding balanced perfectly on my not-so-perfect spine. The hip belt is awesome and easily supports most weight without even realizing it, no hot spots in the shoulders either. The top part can slide up and you can still put a lot of stuff in the pouch that's inside. The side pockets are pretty good for a nalgene, but they could be a tad deeper.Overall I think it's a pretty good pack, but I haven't used any others. So don't take my word for it!..or do.You probably won't be disappointed if you get it though, it's great!
I am slightly jealous - this is my boyfriends pack - after trying on packs - he knew he loved this one - we have yet to take it into the field - but have loaded it down and walked around with it - its SO adjustable - I can wear it and WOULD wear it - it forms a pocket against your lower-mid back which facilitates air flow - it is uber adjustable - plenty of pockets and places to put all your techy gear - he loves the color - which is WAY MORE green than gold - its not a yellow color at all!! OH and - when we were pack shopping and trying them on weighted in the store - the sales guy told us this was BY FAR his favorite pack - for good reason!
