The Gregory Z 55 Pack is a hiking pack for 2-3 day weekends or winter overnighters when you have to pack extra gear. Built with CrossFlo suspension, the Z55 has constant ventilation through the backpanel and via vented EVA foam at the hip belt and harness. The 55 liters of space is accessible from the top, as well as a U-zip access in the front for grabbing items from the middle of the pack during breaks. The top lid has a stash pocket underneath and floats so you can cinch down or release the straps, depending on if you're fully packed or going with a lighter gear load. The front bucket pocket stashes your rain gear so you know exactly where to locate it when the skies begin to drench you and the land. Don't worry, there's also an integrated rain cover, so forgetting it at home isn't even an option.

Almost perfectI tried on almost every pack in the place and this one felt the best. I've noticed that some of the other brands are more esthetically appealing but looking cool won't do you any good when your back hurts after a long hike. The Z55 seems to have held up well going through the hell of airport baggage handlers as well. The quality is incredible as well, I can see this pack lasting 20 years with proper care. My only gripe is that sleeping pad straps aren't large enough to hold some foam camping mattresses. This really isn't a big issue, just a possible area for improvement.

comfy and roomyI got the black one. It's very comfy and light. I used it on my 4-day backpacking trip to lost coast trail. I carried about 45lbs with it. overall it's a great pack, very roomy. however, when you lay it on the ground, dirt will stick on the fabric. one thing I noticed the shoulder strip may not have enough cousin to absorb heavy weights on the pack. on the third day into the trip, my shoulders were a little bit sore. other than that, everything is good.
