Bony Hips from
Great but lightweight here = uncomfortableReturned it to get the men's version instead, but here's the run down:
Great packing system - that front pocket has MAJOR carrying capacity, don't let it fool you.
+++Rain cover! This is a deal in its own
Very durable material, and the top compartment is my favorite, with extra pockets and waterproofing for those grab and go materials.
The lightweight design of this bag makes it a little difficult for those of us with really sharp hips (my hips are pretty bony and protrude a lot) so this bag, even when fitted properly, rubs them raw. The weight is distributed evenly, but my bony hips can't take the thin cardboard-ish hipbelt.
It was an easy return (thanks, Moosejaw!) but I would definitely try this bag on for a bit before committing to a long backpacking trip.

Color not as it appearsI ordered the magnetic grey, online most pictures look like a shimmery bronze/grey. It is actually a darker grey, not really any shimmer to it. I returned it and reordered the teal color. I haven't actually gotten the chance to use it yet though, so I can update this later. Too bad it doesn't come in the pink like the smaller sizes! If you look on Gregory's website, the cairn 48 shows the true color while the 68 does not so you can look & compare there.
