"durable comfortable pack" 05/10/10
This pack is the most comfortable I have ever used. The waist belt's independant suspension allows you to tighten it way down and really transfer the pack weight to your hips. The adjustments allow for a great fit and amazing load managment. The compartments are well designed for the most part. Hip belt pockets would have been nice. It is durable. It is a little heavier than some packs this size, but the padding is worth the trade-off. I have carried loads up to 50lbs with no problem at all. Great pack!
"Goooood Stuff" 03/31/08
This pack has been faaaaaantastic. It's got lots of storage and room to organize. I've brought it to several continents now and have found it large enough to fit everything I need for up to a month with enough individual pockets to know where everything is. Fits darn nicely too, although I got a medium belt with a large pack because of my tall/thinness.
"saver and gilrfriend pleaser" 03/24/08
Great Pack! Easily can support 50lbs. i.e. when your special someone throws all her heavy gear in to your pack to lighten up here load. I knew that I could rely on Gregory to produce an awesome product, but I needed Moosejaw to earn my respect since I was a first time giver. Well, they deserve a round on me. Easy site to navigate best deal on net for my product fast, free, and reliable shipping extra gas to get to the trail and earned some sweet reward points to get something for that special someone to stay on her good side.
"Super solid pack" 02/28/08
This is my first internal pack and I have used it on 4 weekend long outings. I have put heavy loads in it and it has been great in weight distribution and the large pads help to keep it very comfortable on your shoulders and waist. I enjoy all the access and storage points makes it easy to get at your stuff.
"great pack" 02/06/08
I love this pack. I find Gregory's hip belts super comfortable, and like to carry almost all the weight on my hips, so I've never had any problems with the shoulder pads. I like all the pockets for organizing gear, but if you're a minimalist this pack is not for you. There are lots of zippers and straps to manage. There's enough room here for a long weekend trip, but if your pushing a week you'll probably need something bigger, depending on how you pack.
"Could have been great but falls in the basics." 12/04/07
Although it has plenty of very cool and helpful features to help you organize your pack better and keep your hips in top condition this bag lack the most basic protection of massive padding. The straps on the pack are very thin and narrow so after a long and heavy walk they start to dig into your shoulders and hurt you bad.
"A Rock Solid Pack for Hauling Your Stuff - Can't go wrong with it!" 11/29/07
This was my first real pack - I must have tried on at least 20 others at a local REI store before settling on the Baltoro. The shoulder harness and waist belt are some of the most comfortable and adjustable on the market. I used this pack for about 6 months until I thought I needed a bigger one for a recent hike and let the REI salesman convince me to swap it in for a Gregory Palisade. I took the Palisade on numerous day hikes but it never felt nearly as comfortable as the Baltoro and went back to it. Gregory builds a truly outstanding pack - not the lightest on the market but one of the most well constructed packs i've ever seen. Material quality is at the top of the curve and workmansh
"Great Pack, Great Price!" 09/11/07
This was my first internal frame pack quite the upgrade from my old external one! The suspension on these new Gregory packs is really comfortable. The way that they allow the hip belt and harness move with you as you move makes it feel totally connected to you no throwing off of balance. The bottom of the pack is thick, and almost rubberized, allowing it to take quite a bit of abuse. Lots of pockets, straps, lash points, etc. The only con if I have to mention one is that the awesome hip suspension does not allow the pack to fold flat would be easier to toss in the trunk without it being a big L shape, but whatever...it's still a great pack!
"mmhmmm" 07/27/07
This was my first pack and I have no regrets. It is sooo comfortable! On multiple occasions I have found myself wanting to wear this pack instead of a much smaller, and much lighter daypack just because this pack feels so good especially around the waist. Great pack for the buck.
"Awesome Pack!" 07/24/07
I love this pack. It had plenty of room for all hiking/camping gear. I packed it full for a longer hike, then stripped it down and cinched it for a day hike, great pack! The hip belt is huge and comfy, helps keep weight off back and shoulders!
