"Great Pack!" 03/21/12
I have been on about 6 hikes so far with this pack. I must say it is extremely comfortable. The access spots on this pack are great. I can always easily find things without any problem. It is a heavier pack, but the comfort makes the few added pounds worth it!
"Roomy, comfortable, convenient pockets and access" 07/12/11
Casual camper. Been on a couple long trips with this pack. Very comfortable. The staff at the store was very helpful and knew how to fit it right. Quite roomy, easily holds gear for a week. Pockets and access panels are very convenient. Waist pouches are small but very handy for small camera, pocket knife, compass. Would buy it again.
"Good pack" 06/14/11
I'm a regular multi-day hiker and I have found this a very solid backpack. It has easy access for most items one needs to keep handy and ample space for anything you would need for a week or so on the trail (my usual maximum). It fits my tall, thin frame well. Important for me is ample strap and attachment points for keeping things on the outside of the pack. Something I would like would be a place to easily access a 1.5 liter water bottle, but that is just me.
"Great for all occasions" 04/29/11
I've taken this pack all over the place during the last three years and I still don't have a single complaint about it. It's served me very well when leading trips of beginners (i.e. lots of extra gear) or on long climbing trips (i.e. lots of very heavy extra gear): even when I've loosened the brain up to overstuff it way past the 70 liter mark, it's still very comfortable. It's nimble too, even when very heavy: in the Tetons a few summers ago the Baltoro carried ~60 pounds but I still had no problem crossing streams on slippery rocks and logs or bushwhacking through ultra-dense forests. After all this, it still looks pretty much new. Great pack!
"Great Pack" 04/29/11
Just finished a 22 mile hike with this pack. The swiveling hip belt really helps stabilize you when going over rough terrrain and climbing/ descending hills. That's my favorite feature of the pack. Also like all the straps that compress the load and keep it tight against your back. I really like all the pockets, seem to be in the right place. Good pack for trips up to 5 nights. I took it on a 4 nighter and had room to spare. Great backpack for anybody, and reasonably priced.
"Solid pack, great weight distribution. Sexy colors -- so long as you get the green." 02/15/11
This pack is large. Sometimes this can be a problem if you take it out just for a weekend (I have a tendency take more than I need). But other than that I have absolutely loved this pack. Got me from Ga to Md on the AT this past summer/fall. Even with 75 pounds it is a joy to use. The sleeper compartment is a pretty large size and you can fit more in there than it originally looks like, I barely have to use my compression sack to get any bag to fit, great for my sleeping bags' longevity. Affixing stuff to the outside of the bag is easy, too. It says it doesn't have place for a board, but it definitely does.
"I love this bag!" 02/13/11
I got this pack for my husband for his birthday. We are avid car campers and he has really been interested in doing a backpacking trip. I did a lot of research and settled in on this pack and he absolutely loves it. He said it is very comfortable to wear!
"I love this pack!" 02/10/11
I am a beginning backpacker, and I've never owned a pack before but I did try a bunch of bags at the store and I could not find a more comfortable pack than this bag. It is so comfortable and holds so much, I just couldn't imagine getting any other pack!! Get it!
"best backpack for big big loads" 01/23/11
most comfortable backpack i've ever used with 50+ pounds! the hip belt and shoulder straps are loaded with padding and ride extremely well... if you buy this pack you wont be let down, it's everything you think it will be and more :D
"Great pack, if it fits and is big enough for you" 01/16/11
Was in love w/ Baltoro 70, up until I did a pack fitting. Felt great empty; got it adjusted, then threw 40-50 llbs. in; Ouch! Tops of the belt padding were firm and dug into my gut, and the straps ended up digging the underside of my chest. Due to torso and chest/gut, was trying a medium pack with a large harness. Guys at MJ were great in doing everything to make it fit. Additionally, determined that the capacity wasn't enough for the 12-day trek that we're doing. That said, love the pack itself. Lots of access into the pack, places to store small gear on the hip belt, and well constructed. If it fits, a great pack. But make sure it fits.
"worth every cent" 11/28/10
great pack, light, big, great features. Got it a few months back and used it three times in the first month. It holds more than it looks like, seems to wear great and is pretty comfortable. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!
