"Good idea, but just isn't for me!" 07/15/11
This is a good example of an ultralight piece of gear that serves multiple purposes. It’s a stuff sack and a pillow. Yes, it's true that any stuff sack would work as a pillow, but the fleece on this one makes it extra nice. Despite its minuscule weight, this concept just doesn't work for me. I tried stuffing it with extra clothing and it was too firm. I tried a fleece and still didn't like it. All of the folds, buttons, and buckles of the items stuffed into the bag can be felt through it. This item never made it onto the trail. I'd rather carry little more weight and have a more comfortable pillow such as the Cocoon Hyperlite Pillow (inflatable) that I just purchased.

I've been shoving clothes into a stuff sack to make a pillow forever, but Granite Gear has take it to the next level here. All of the normal stuff sack functions, plus it's FUZZY. Simply brilliant. It kind of sucks not being able to choose the color, but I got a blue one - my favorite color. Way to go Moosejaw!
"Why didn't I think of this?" 04/29/10
This thing is great. I have been using a stuff sack as a pillow for years, and I used to wrap it with a t-shirt to make it more comfy. This thing does all that for you. Holds enough clothing to get you by for a few days, and has the fleece side to rest your head on. Toss your pillow and get one of these. The only drawback? Can't pick the color. What's up with that? I have some goofy colored granite gear bags in my pack because of this.

I have taken this backpacking a few times and it's great. It is lightweight, can be compacted really small, or can hold clean clothes or dirty clothes in it so it's ready to go when you want to use it for the night. Although, I don't know if I would suggest using it for dirty clothes if you're sleeping on it... Your call I guess.

Loved sleeping on fleece. Stuffs nicely and not so big that I can still consider myself minimalist. Not crazy about the chartruese color I got - would have been nice to pick. Also the non-fleece bits tend to crinkle audibly. Still, good piece of gear that will be packed again.
