The Hackystash by Granite Gear. Stuff it, kick it, pack it along, stop and kick it some more. It's more than a hacky sack, it's also a handy pocket. Fill it with a bandanna , a sock or some para-cord for a cloths-line or an ultralight bear-rope setup. Put a rock in the sack to toss it over a limb and then it's a great tool. "Handy. Unnecessary, but handy." 03/15/11
I use this to hold 50' of TripTease, a NiteIze S-biner, and when I get to camp, a rock. Clip the rope, zip up the rock... instant bear-bag assist. Do I *need* to do this? No. Would it probably build character if I spent ten minutes elaborately tying a rope around a rock? Likely. I've got enough character, though. It's a handy little thing.

This has got to be one of the coolest pieces of gear in a long time. It's well-made, as one would expect from Granite Gear. The colors are great, and it only costs 10! What am I going to use it for? I'm going to hang it on my travel backpack, so, when I go through security at the airport, there is a place to dump all the spare change, keys, and other stuff in my pockets that set off the alarms.
