The Air Cooler Pack by Granite Gear. Padded protection, and insulation for all sorts of stuff from Nalgene bottles, Guiness Pints and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Built with a new material called Temptrol laminated to 3/8" open cell foam. Temptrol is a polypropylene based non-woven perforated fabric that is metallized on one side. This new material reflects 95% of the radiant heat, the major source of heat transfer, to help anything stay warm or cold for much longer. It also offers protection from electromagnetic fields for sensitive electronics. Plus they have YKK water resistant zippers. But, enough about the technology already! These things are just what the doctor ordered. They can be strapped on nearly any pack, they are built as light as possible and the topper is they look like fruit colored chrome. Pick a few!.

"Does the job but could use better system to attach to your pack" 03/16/11
I wanted a good insulated 0.5L bottle holder for on my hip belt during winter adventures but didn't like all the extra room in the latest version of the 0.5L OR insulated bottle parka so i decided to give this one a try. I love all my other Granite Gear products but this one is just okay. It is nice and compact with no wasted space and insulates well, i just wish the attament system was better like the OR bottle parka. It has a series of small loops along the back but they are too small to fit over the hip belt of my packs so i end up having to hook it onto the body of my backpack which is very inconvenient to get to. I'm not a big fan of the bright colors either.

actually bought this as a padded carrying case for small lantern that i have. it's pretty good, but a little big. the smaller size wont fit it, but that's not the company's fault. i haven't tried it yet as an insulator for the nalgene...i'll have to use it for its intended purpose i suppose...

These are really neat - My MJ nalgene fits perfectly, and it keeps the bottle from sweating all over my desk... and as soon as the weekend comes, I'm sure it will keep my icy cold water just that - icy cold - while the dog & I take a long walk. Only think that keeps me from giving it a Love it is that I would have liked a bit of color choice. Oh well. The aqua is a nice color.
