These were pretty disappointing. I remember back in the day when they had the old warmers that you broke the bubble inside and the package would heat up to super high temperatures. Well, these are not them. These are pretty much only useful for a last ditch effort to thwart off frost nip. They take awhile to heat up and should probably be placed on areas close to veins on the top of your foot. This will warm the blood to your toes but it won't be anything you can really notice. They probably work best psychologically so at least you think you're getting warmer.
I ALWAYS use these toe warmers when I go downhill skiing. Without them my toes are constantly cold - with them they are nice and toasty! They have a sticky backing, so before I put my ski boot on, I peel the paper off the backing and stick the warmer into the toe of each ski boot. I wear my ski socks and I am ready for a comfortable afternoon! I also love the hand warmers. After skiing I just peel the toe warmers out of the boot and get ready to repeat for the next day. You want to take the warmers out as soon as you are done as they will get stiff and be more difficult to take out at a later time. Love, LOVE these warmers! Pam
Okay, so I wear slippers or socks almost all the time, even to bed. My feet get cold, even with several wool socks and some good boots. Bad circulation? maybe, but I do enjoy cozy toes. WIth these, my toes get quite hot. These are comfortable to wear only if you plan on being outside a while, in really cold temperatures. When you do wear them, don't do it barefoot. In the bottom of a sleeping bag? Over socks? yessss. To a cold football game or winter camping? Absolutely.
When you can't wear boots and heavy socks but need to work out in the cold - these sure did the trick. These added relief to my daughter and the rest of the actors who were working the local haunted house. The extras will be used during the rest of the winter.
