Excellent gear for power in the fieldMy company acquired this generator to use in the field for video production. We do documentary film work in a multitude of locations and having a compact, portable power source like the Yeti 400 is a lifesaver. It easily powered our large LED light panels and left ample power available for other devices like battery and phone chargers. It's really nice to not even have to think about power solutions when you arrive to a location to film, and allows us to be more efficient with our setups, which is key to staying on schedule when we're trying to pack in a full day of shooting. Just a fantastic piece of gear that we quickly came to rely on.

Frustrated Buyer from
Yeti died within first yearI bought my Yeti and was very excited about using it. Bought a package with the solar panels and original lights. Never really got to use it camping but kept it charged for almost a year. I really only took it out to show it off to people. Then, after building a tree house for my kids, I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to use the Yeti on a regular basis. The only problem? It died after a couple days of use. I went through the customer service email but they said they couldn't help me because it was past the year warranty. Now it's just a very large (and very heavy) paper weight. I was a big brand loyalist for Goal Zero... Very disappointed!

I have sleep apnea and my Yeti 400 has been a great backup power source for my CPAP on several occasions when storms took out our power in the middle of the night. Also I have used my Yeti 400 when we have had thunderstorms since I was afraid lightening might damage my expensive CPAP. I lost numerous appliances years ago when lightening struck my house and "fried" the appliances that had power from our local power company. Today my CPAP is so much safer in a thunderstorm when it is just being powered by my Yeti 400. I sleep better during storms because of Goal Zero.

Excellent work horse for cross state tripI am so glad that I selected the yeti 400 to power my CPAP and other electrical equipment while on a seven day cross Texas trip. My main reason for selecting the yeti 400 was its features and ability to be charged by my vehicles 12 volt lighter connection while on the road, solar panels in isolated locations, and motel room outlets during overnight stays. The yeti 400 is about the size of a vehicle battery and still light enough to be carried without any difficulties. Being disabled, I have no problems in its operations Thanks for a well designed product.

Fantastic performanceWe used this battery for a two week camping trip and it was a workhorse. Not only did we run our camp lighting off of it and recharged a plethora of smart phones and other tech, but it easily ran airbed pumps, cooking tools and a sewing machine. The display screen in particular with it's input and outut data was a huge improvement and definitely our favorite update compared to the escape 150. The only downside is that it does take a bit to charge, we were comfortably charging it with 2x 30w solar panels, only using one did feel perilously slow on it's own.

Escape 150I have literally bought about $10k in Goal Zero products in the past three years and have had pretty good success. The only product I've had problems with is the Escape 150. I had bought two of these and had problems with both of them. The problem I had was that the batteries would drain down in five days without any draw on them. I called Goal Zero but could not get any support to replace them. At the time, these units were less than 6 months old. Goal Zero has a real problem with this produce and would not make it right with me, even though I have bought 6 Yeti 1250's, dozens of Boulder 15's and 30's, two Yeti 400's, 20 Light a Life's, and ton's of other smaller products.

Supported 4 adults for 10 days at the JamboreeI bought this kit so that myself and 3 other adults of our Boy Scout Jamboree troop could charge our phones and laptops at our campsite during the national jamboree.
It did that and supported several desperate scouts with an emergency charge. After a cloudy day I did have to carry up to the adult lounge and plug it in for a few hours, but overall it worked very well. The second last day the built-in inverter blew a fuse or something but once I got home they cheerfully exchanged it for me.
I also want to add that I did have a scout goofing off trip over and rip apart the panel to Yeti cable. As luck would have it Goal Zero had a booth at the Jamboree and once I told them my story the Goal Zero employee returned with a replacement cable free of charge.
Seems like a great company that really believes and supports their product.

Camping Yeti from
Great backup batteryI got one of the test Yeti 400s, and Goal Zero has done it again. These guys come up with some cool products. I took the Yeti 400 camping, with 2 Boulder 30s, and it worked like magic, powering up all of the kids tablets, our camera, some LALs, and we even used it with a projector to watch a movie. Around the house it has been really fun, plugging in and using different electric tools. And, it will be great for when the power goes out. Fun little features, like seeing how much power is going in and out is really neat. Love this stuff!
