NOT worth the dough at allAt the moment I added this solar panel to my shopping cart the old knight from Indiana Jones should have popped up and proclaimed "you chose poorly!" Unfortunately he did not and I was stuck with my poor decision.,,This was used on my trek from Lukla to EBC and back, attempting to charge: an ipod nano, my friends iphone 6, and my ipad. ,,It charged the ipod fairly regularly, no complaints there. At EBC on a perfectly clear day with the sun at its zenith it struggled to charge the phone and flat out refused to charge the ipad.,,I tried all angles though at noon it should be idiot proof correct? I detached and reattached the power cord. And I made sure the face of the cells were as clean as could be. Still no bueno. ,,Other than the performance, the build quality seemed fine though the power cords, specifically the USB seemed really cheap.,,

Great medium sized solar panelI recently ordered this solar panel to supplement my emergency preparedness setup. I have an old Brunton solar panel that I occasionally used but it was limited to only outputting the 5V USB. The great thing about this panel, along with the other Goal Zero panels, is that they can be used in multiple ways. You can charge your portable device directly from it, connect it to a battery pack such at the Guide 10 Plus or Switch 8 or you can daisy chain them together to increase your power output. I plan to get a 7W and 20W panel from Goal Zero to allow me to pick which one(s) I want to take with me depending on what kind of trip I'm taking (i.e. car camping, backpacking, end of the world, etc.). As I mentioned above, these are great to have for being prepared too. With the three panels combined I'll be able to output 40W! Couple these with a Goal Zero lantern or two and you're all set for a power outage.
