"True to size" 03/31/11
I usually wear 6.5 in most shoes, and 7 in running shoes. Based on another review that said these run big, I ordered a size 6. That was a mistake. My big toe hits the top of the shoe exactly. I'll probably reorder to a size 7 (which is what I would have normally ordered for this type of shoe). Overall they are comfortable. A bit snug in the toebox, but I think when I size up for length, it will also get a touch wider and then will be perfect. The insole is better than most as far as cushioning and arch support. If you have very flat feet, the insole might bother you, but for me (medium arch), it's perfect. Overall a snug, but not suffocating fit.
"Good shoe, but as some drawbacks" 03/04/11
I loved the stiffness of the sole, reminded me of the original garmont negavi. However, the tongue on the shoes has a lot of extra material that is very stiff that really rubbed the top of my foot. It doesn't seem to be a great shoe for people with high arches or orthotics. This is rather disappointing since I have been looking for a garmont similar to the original nagevi. But overall, the shoe would be great for the average foot. I had to return mine unfortunately
"Runs WAY to big" 05/05/09
I just ordered these after trying several other pairs of hiking shoes. These ones are nice looking but they are about 1.5 sizes too big! I always wear an 8.5 in everything, from hiking shoes to sneakers to boots. I could have easily fit in the 7. I feel like this should be mentioned in the product information. I will definitely be returning these...
"Home-stay or snow play, these are the kicks you need." 06/29/08
Not only are these kicks cute, they are the most comfy hiking shoes I've ever donned. Wearing them, I braved 80 degree temps on Mt. Hood with many feet of melting snow still underfoot. I didn't fall through the drifts of snow, and my toesies stayed happily dry due to the Gortex interior. Days later, I wore them while playing around no, not like that on Crater Lake, sliding down snowy hillsides on my own tookus, Garmont-shod feet in the air.
