"Comfy, light-weight but loaded with features" 12/31/10
I bought these for my fiance. When he opened the box, he literally put them on and began skipping through the house. Seriously - skipping like a little girl. The color is a true dark brown. They are lightweight and comfortable. He reported needing no time to break them in as it typical with other shoes. They are warm, which is crucial for Alaskan winters. Love this brand.

Okay folks, you won't believe me, I bought my first pair of Garmonts in 2002 for an intense "Outward Bound" style trip. Since '02, I have spent two whole summers backpacking in them in the Rockies, and atleast a trip every year. They have gotten a ton of wear... in fact, I have only had one "hot-spot", after a 14 hour day!And although these boots are awesome, the pluses are a great choice too... so check them out. Both styles are the "it" boot when you need a comfy toe box.So go ahead, its okay to look... but at the end of the day, you want to take home these hot Italian Babes, and by babes I mean boots.

Holy Cow these boots rock. After 4 years I have never had a blister. Because your foot is asymetrical, Garmont made this boot asymetrical. The tongue does not get pushed off to the side like many other shoes (this has to do w/ how you walk) and the footbed is slightly angled... Goretex tops it off to make a rugged, water proof boot. Totally water proof. The only downside is that, b/c they are Goretex, your feet might get a little toasty in the dead of summer. Don't worry about them getting cold, though. I have trouble finding shoes that fit right and these are perfect!

5 years ago I bought these boots for the first time. I walked with them to Santiago de Compostella and took several walks in Roemenië, Hongarije and Bulgarije. Today I need new boots but we can 't find Garmont anymore in Belgium. I don't find them in Nederland or Frankrijk either. By internet I came on your site. You made my day. They are the best boots ever!!
"GOD WOULD WEAR THESE BOOTS!" 05/14/07
Not many people know this, so don't share around what I'm about to tell you - but because I am an only child, and due to a sick fascination with Indiana Jones I live my life like Dr. Jones... I bought these boots for my adventures in September of 2005.. Not only have I defeated Nazis and crazed Mayan Overlords in these boots, but I have hiked through Connecticut and Vermont in them over and over again. I've walked through mud and guck, local food stores, water, snow, and have yet to get wet inside. This may not be huge, but the laces haven't even frayed yet, either! I will buy another pair of these boots. I will fight weird anthropology related crime forever.

The boots are spectacular. I was after a boot that would be stable, keep the toes dry, and be comfortable whether on day hikes on around East Lansing,MI. The boots also look great, which is a plus. I suggest you try these boots on whether you go to the store to buy a jacket, gloves, watch, or toothpick. Spectacular.

Excellent boots! I have had a couple pair of Asolo boots that I loved, but the smooth leather got all scratched up. These are just as good and don't get as messed up. They have taken a little while to break in, but are starting to feel great. They seem rugged and are definitely waterproof. You won't be sorry you got these.
