Can this pot be placed over an open flame?
Asked by: Jims
Howdy! Yes, this dutch oven can be used over an open flame. It can also be used with coals or charcoal under it as well as stacked on top of the lid to fully encompass the oven in heat. Not only that, but you can actually stack another ducth oven on top of it for double-level cooking. The delicious possibilities are endless.

Is the underside of the lid flat or domed, & does it have a lip or is it flat like a griddle? I'd like to be able to use it as a frying pan for those times when my scout troop wants pancakes or eggs & bacon.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Also, feel free to send any pancakes, eggs or bacon to 32200 North Avis Suite 100, Madison Heights, MI 48071, c/o Answer Guy. As for the underside of this lid, not only is it lipped, but it's flat as well, so you should be all set with your culinary undertakings! Hope this helped you out.
