Love these trekking trousers! These Vidda Pro trousers are exactly what I have been looking for! I especially like the fit, durability and reinforced knees. I have worn them every weekend since they arrived. They are great for hiking and working in the woods. Best of all, there are multiple options for ankle fit. There are several snaps that facilitate that "just right" fit for the days activities. One definitely needs this feature in tick country... I wonder why American manufacturers do not offer similar styles and quality.

Too small, no stretch or give for hikingI look great in these, as long as I don't move. There's zero give in the material. And they are too narrow through hips and upper legs to be able to walk in them. I'm an 8-10. 10 gives me plenty of room to move so I always get a ten in sporty hiking pants. Moose Jaw sai I was a 38. I played it safe, I thought, by ordering a 40. And I have to return them as I can't bend or raise my legs to step over or up. I'm 5'7", 142 lbs. I've got hips, but I'm pretty lean. I fear a 42 would be too long, as the 40 were fine if worn over boots. They may be fine, but I don't want to take another chance. Too bad as the quality is great and they are awesome pants. A bit heavy for hiking, but mainly the lack of stretch or give is a deal breaker.

Finally! A decent pair of field pants for women!I'm a volunteer forest ranger and work on a trail maintenance crew. I've been searching for a pair of quality field pants for women and after many years of trial and error, I've finally found the perfect pair of pants. The Fjallraven Vidda Pro's are very comfortable and have lots of deep pockets (not girlie pockets) for all your essentials in the field. I'm 5'8 and 145 lbs and bought a size 42 (European) and they fit perfectly. I can work in them without being uncomfortably tight. They have a high back so no worries of exposure when crouching down amongst the trail crew. The fabric is durable with directions on how to wax the fabric printed on the inside of the pants. The seat and the knees are reinforced, perfect for outdoor use. The legs have snaps at the bottom, perfect for keeping snow, mud or gravel out of your boots. I get lots of complements on them from the men! I'm going to buy more when more colors are in stock.,,

Pockets galore!Love these pants! 7 pockets, snaps for a secure fit around your ankles, and a hook to latch onto your boots.
The fabric is heavier which will be great for sliding down mountains- which has destroyed all my other hiking pants.
Love that I don't need to wear gaiters w/ these as they have the built in hook and snaps.
Could be a little loser in the thigh area but then maybe I could be a little smaller in that area as well.

Tried again and the next size up was just as tightI reviewed earlier that moosejaw said I was a 38 and I went up to a 40 and they were top tight in the hips and upper thigh. Tried again with a 42 ans the are exactly the same! Longer, waist a little looser, but in the rear and hips they are so tight I cant raise my leg. These are built for sticks.i give up on this brand.

They fit!I've had my eye on these pants for awhile. When I saw they were on sale and my size was in stock and it was my birthday, I had no excuse not to order them. Free shipping came very fast and I got them in time for my last camping trip. I was prepared for them not to fit because my shape is more straight than curvy and most women's pants are too tight in the waist. I ordered size 46, I usually wear women's 14. They are roomy but I wanted something big enough that I could wear a fleece base layer underneath. They are a little long for my 32 inseam but I just snapped the bottom and folded it under and they stayed in place. I felt a little like a lumberjack when I tried them on but I wore them all weekend including to a museum tour and out to dinner at a casual supper club. I was comfortable in temps from 37 degrees to 70 degrees. There are there are 5 huge front pockets which fit my iPhone 6 and one smaller knife pocket. No back pockets which would be nice for backpacking.
