Surprisingly warm! Smart design. Less packable.Have worn this jacket in sub-zero temperatures around campus and simply love it! The hood and the longer cut really makes this jacket a whole lot warmer than for example the Nuptse by TNF. I actually shipped a giant parka back because this one was enough.,,I feel like the synthetic filling in the shoulders is a smart idea for all us backpack-wearers, but I really can't back that up.,,This jacket really is a slim fit, which is great because you can fit it under a shell, but be aware of that. I'm 5'10" and kind of lanky (145 lbs). Small fits me perfectly.,,The major drawback is that it is less packable than other compressible insulation layers. I think this is due to the fact that there is more jacket here (hood + longer cut) and the synthetic parts. It folds down to about the size of a really small sleeping bag.

Solid all-around utility playerPicked it up last year for $230 and have worn it through this entire NYC winter. I've had it camping in low 30's weather, skiing once at Hunter in the teens, and in the city regularly in temps ranging from 1 degree up to mid-20's.,,,,The jacket checks off the boxes: warm, lightweight, and packable - it's good at all of these, but not excellent in any specific area. It's a solid all-arounder, that's heavier duty than something like a Patagonia Down Sweater, but lighter duty than the RAB Neutrino.,,,,Sizing and fit is excellent, hood tightens down well, cut is 1" longer than your average hardshell, and it's longer in the back so doesn't ride up easily. I'm 6 ft. 200 pounds ,42 chest, and the large fits me perfectly. ,,,,More stylish than your average puffy, the synthetic in the shoulders and the vertical parts of the sides keeps the fit trim and athletic and the ladies love the fox. Throw on a baselayer, wool sweater, and a shell to block wind and you're good into the teens.
