Wanted to Splurge on a Winter CoatI spent hours looking for winter jackets online and wanted a hotter-than-hell yet fashionable winter jacket. Canada Goose had me quackin for a while but god damn they are expensive. Somehow I came upon Fjall'Raven. This beautiful beast of a jacket stole my heart immediately. Moosejaw even had it on sale from $600 to $465. The customs shipping fee of $65 to Canada couldn't dissuade this Cannuck from getting what he wanted. Very happy with the jacket, snug fit (I'm skinny 5'11, got a small), can tighten wrist and waist in case of high and chilly winds, and the hood is detachable. Hand pockets positioned perfectly for comfort. I've never reviewed a product more - not sure if I'm compelled by the hefty purchase or the quality of the product. I'd say both, but I'm a happy customer.

What kind of down? 1) Fill rating 550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800? 2) regular or hydrophilic (water resistant down?)

Thanks for the question. The Ovik Jacket contains 500 CUIN fillpower goose down. The down itself is not treated to be water resistant, however the outer material of the jacket is infused with Fjallraven's Greenland Wax, which is wind and water resistant.
