The Fjallraven Men's Greenland No. 1 Down Jacket is a down winter jacket for outdoor exploring. The Swedish Arctic Fox has brought to you the stellar G-1000® Eco fabric and combined it with 700 fill down. The inside is lined with Pertex® Quantum®, so as not to weigh the jacket down, but slip easily over your other layers. The outer fabric deters the elements while the down traps the heat. Finished with a fixed hood to warm your head and ears and snap-closure cuffs to block drafts from slipping in through the sleeves. The dual chest pockets close with a snap and the button placket blocks wind from the front zipper.
Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

size down.....exceptional coat- love it !sizing: So... to hopefully help others with the sizing of this fine product- I an 5'9" 155lbs/31-32 sleeve/37 chest....a size small fits great - sometimes I wear a med (Patagonia); fitted; room for vest and/or sweater under, with scarf and hat when cold (30-40)! first layer, when warmish (50's),,,,Nice finishing all around...cool leather...built for stout! not alot of 'bells and whistles'; don't worry when off the trail and in brush - very durable. This coat will last !!,,,,Haven't tried to wax yet....let you know when I do.,,,,Difficult figuring out the correct size- as with most of this brand....order a size smaller , if you are an athletic/slim type. Order your normal size if you want to wear lots of stuff under!,,Exceptionally well made coat with simple high quality materials

Lightweight + WarmNice looking coat, but I'm disappointed that the color doesn't really look like it did on the website. I got the Gray, and it ended up looking more like the brown color. This is a great coat because it's lightweight while still keeping you warm. I initially purchased the regular Greenland Down coat, and it was way too bulky and heavy. The No 1 fits like a glove for those who don't want a huge winter coat. The weather has been too warm to really test it out, but I was able to wear it a couple days and it almost made me too hot when I was inside at the grocery store. I love the Swedish Flag and the Fjallraven Patch. Im 6'0 ~160lbs and the small works just fine for a tailored looking fit.

Doesn't get much better than this!I bought this for my husband for a move to a cold cold climate. He doesn't like bulky coats but he does like to be warm! I was skeptical at first since the jacket was so light but it is incredibly warm and comfortable. It still looks slim and streamlined even with a sweater or cardigan underneath and we are both utterly impressed. This was worth the price. We have not tried waxing it yet but will soon. It is already water resistant but it is supposed to help with wind-proofing too. I highly recommend this coat. It doesn't really get better than a slim stylish and WARM winter coat!

Warm, Stylish and FuctionalI recently purchased this for myself. I am elated with the quality, warmth and functionality of this jacket. I work outside and the temperature last week was -23 degrees Celsius, I layered it over an arc'teryx Atom LT hoodie and was sufficiently warm. It is well made and not bulky at all. It's too bad that the outer pockets have snap closures rather than zippers. The order arrived quickly, considering I live in Canada, and without any problems. This jacket is expensive but worth every penny. It is a classic style that will last for many years.

Perfection! This is the first winter jacket I've ever ordered over the web and I was a little skeptical it would meet my expectations. When it arrived and I slipped it on, the fit could not have been any better if it was custom-tailored. This jacket is pure perfection! Super comfortable, rugged and stylish. I haven't had the chance to test it in cold weather yet but heated up quickly in it indoors.
I don't agree with the reviews recommending people to size down. The Large fit true to size for an athletic frame.

Awesome Jacket, worthy InvestmentSo happy with this purchase. I was searching for a coat that would
[+] Look awesome on both city streets and in the field
[+] Have the performance and materials to stand up to NE US cold winters
[+] Last me a long while with good construction.
This Jacket definitely delivers!
I have gotten nothing but compliments for this jacket, and it manages to be really warm while not so bulky as a typical parka. I haven't been able to wear this yet in true "cold temps" [this is a relative term obviously but for me in NYC winters can often dip just above/below zero freezing 0 deg (F) +/- 10 deg ]. I'm quite confident with a light layer it will perform great at the bottom of this range and also somewhat below.
The outer material is really wind resistant so even with just a t-shirt under the jacket I'm fairly toasty in blustery 35 deg (F) weather . I have yet to use the Fjallraven wax but defiantly plan to apply a layer of it so its nice and waterproof for wet sloppy winter conditions.
One of my biggest reservations before buying this was that everywhere I read it said this coat (and Fjallraven in general) runs pretty huge size wise, I didn't really find that to be the case, I'm 6'2 205lb and the Large fits like a glove.
Overall Highly recommend this!

Really nice.My jacket arrived a few weeks ago and I am very content. It met every requirement I was looking for. It is wind/waterproof, keeps me warm, not too bulky, great quality and not too small so that I am able to layer (even though it is very warm and there is no need to layer). I would recommend this jacket to anyone who wants a high quality product.

Unique coatI bought this looking for a nice looking coat to wear out in the winter that was really warm and wasn't a ski jacket but wasn't overly dressy. And I feel that look wise this coat is 100% what I was looking for. The only downside of this coat is that it is not quite as warm as I was looking for. It is down and it is definitely a winter coat, but it is not that thick of down and is not one of those "so warm I'm sweating coats." That being said, the thinner down makes it quite light weight and comfortable. I would not consider this coat bulky. One of the reasons I wanted to write this review is to comment on size. All the other reviews said that this coat was really big and to say size down. I didn't find this to be as big as I expected. I am 6'4" and 175 lbs. Clothes tend to fit me either well in the body and too short in the arms (large), or well in arm length but swimming on my body (x-large). I ordered this in a large even though I usually get xl for coats. This fits me well in the body and in arm length. If anything, it is slightly small in the body/short in the back. I was surprised by this due to all the other reviews talking about how big it fit. Overall a unique and good looking coat that is comfortable, but not the warmest coat in the world.
Which is warmer, the greenland down jacket or this, the greenland no.1 down jacket?
Asked by: rosswf
Thanks for the question. We have no specific rating system to determine warmth, however looking at these two specific jackets I would have to give the edge to the No. 1 Jacket due to it's multiple areas of construction to help trap in heat, such as the Pertex Quantum lining and snap closure cuffs. You would not go wrong with either jacket, though!

The Fjalraven site currently lists this jacket as having 800 cuin fill down, this description lists 700. Is this an error, or is this last year's model (and a little different as a result)?
Asked by: Hurland
The 2014 model of this jacket has 700 fill down, while the newer version has 800 fill. We are currently carrying both, and the sizes and styles on sale for this jacket are last season's model.
