"Super thin soles equals great microedging" 12/06/10
My first climbing shoes. I've now been climbing for almost 8 months inside and outside. Such a good choice for a first shoe. I've climbed a 5.11a outside in these and I climbed in them inside on 30 and 45 degree walls. Pro/Con: No firm last and thin rubber means I can toe in to the smallest groove, plastic or rock. But I have to literally toe in, no mid sole/last curve to help my toes point.Pros: C4Stealth rocks. I am the only person at my gym who doesn't take my shoes off the entire time I am there.Cons: You cannot toe hook in these shoes. Heel hooking is a 5 out of 10 because of design and because they're slippers. Like all 5.10s, they smell.
"Sensitive, all-around quality shoe" 02/03/08
At first, these shoes seemed horribly crampy, even for someone with narrow feet like myself. However, much of the pain can be attributed to the fact that they were my first pair of climbing shoes and I was, therefore, not prepared for the breaking in process. Since then, they've stretched moderately and are very high performing. I boulder and sport climb in them and they are excellent.
"Interesting. Veerryy interesting." 12/26/07
I think these shoes do require a certain foot type to be comfortable. I've seen them work great for people with narrow feet, and people who don't need a large toebox. Although climbing shoes are supposed to be tight, these can often put your toes into a position that just isn't natural, and is painful to climb in. However, I'd still recommend giving them a try. Just don't be put off by the way they first feel when you put them on. It's weird, but it feels much better on the wall.
"Sweetest little slipper out there!" 02/21/06
I love these shoes! I was very skeptical when I saw someone leading in them. I thought they looked like they'd pull off your heel as soon as you'd try to hook with it. WRONGO! I boulder, no ropes, on 45 degree walls, and these are some sweet and effective footwear! I hook my heel all the time with these and feel so confident that they will stay put, on my foot. They weigh nothing, are super soft and flexible and break in after a couple uses. This is one MAJOR former skeptic telling y'all to jump into these quick! When I'm tired of wearing my aggressive and painful Methods, I put these on and send anyway.
