I love these shoes! Especially awesome for the dying art of aid climbingI purchased these as approach shoes because before this I had some flappy pair of 'keen' sandals that were basically good for nothing when there were slippery leaves on the decent of climbing trails (this was all the time...). Before that I had my flip flops, so these were my first real hiking shoes. Anyways these are amazing- at first they were weird because I wore low cut socks with them and the tongue of the shoe was pressing right into my ankle and at the end of the day I was getting a red spot there, but after bearing through the first 3-4 times out with them, they were broken in and I no longer had an issue. I especially love these shoes while aid climbing. They are great because you can hike in with them, then bust into your ladders and then go right into free climbing with them! I climbed the first pitch of the south face (5.8) with them and trust me if I can do it you can do it too. There is no other shoe that I would want for aid because these are the lightest you can buy.
