Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome approach shoe This is my second pair of Five Ten approach shoes. I wore an 8 (my true size) in my last shoe, but they fit snug. They were much like this shoe, but a bit heavier. By the end of my hike up or down from climbing in super tight Five Ten rock shoes, my feet did not welcome the super snug fit for the descent. I ordered these in an 81/2, and they leave just enough room in the toe for a thick sock and swelling. I love them! They don't rub the top of my feet, and you (of course) can't beat Five Ten C4 rubber. Highly recommend these for anything from wearing around town, to long hikes, or as an approach shoe. They are leather, so they may be a little warmer than canvas, but they will last a long time. I wore my last pair for four years, put a lot of miles on them, and they still have lots of life left in them. So, bottom line, I would recommend you buy true-to-size for a snug fit, or if you're over it and want comfort like me, buy half a size up.
