The V-Mile Shoe by Five Ten was designed as the ultimate all-around mileage shoe. The extremely comfortable V-Mile features Hook and loop closure straps for easy on/off convenience, an EVA wedge for cushioning and support on approach slabs and long descents, and our proprietary micro-perfed leather uppers to let feet breath, no matter how hard you're cranking. The Stealth Onyxx rubber soles provide the ultimate in friction, edging and long wear. This shoe is a great choice for long moderate routes and for climbers looking for true comfort in a multi-purpose shoe.

"definitely good for beginners..." 02/03/11

after that, its time to upgrade. I liked them at first, cool look, neat colors, fit well, didn't know much about climbing when i first got these shoes. It lasted me about a little less than a year, the rubber began to chip off a bit. overall perfect for beginners. CLIMB ON GUYS AND GIRLS! o btw, the bottom of your foot will turn red, don't worry you're not bleeding, its from the sole.

"Very respectable first shoe" 09/18/10

Pros: Great rubber, cool designing, very comfortable once broken in, aggressive enough heal for most heel hooks, decently priced.Cons: Straps are way too long. I have a slender foot, but I find myself walking on them.Oh, and if you wear socks, the red interior will stain your socks pink. NOTE: They fit pretty true to normal sizing, so if at all possible, try on a couple pairs before coming back and saving money with moosejaw :)

"My first shoe" 08/25/10

This is my first climbing shoe. Went right to the indoor rock wall as soon as I bought these. I am new to climbing but i know these will get me a lot of experience and use out of these. I cant wait to get out to red rocks and put them to use.

"My First Shoe" 08/25/10

I just bought these and went right to the indoor gym (since its 110 outside) They stick really well. I am just begining but I feel I'll have these for a long time to come. If I could have I would have bought them from moosejaw. But it was something I felt I should try them on. I will be wearing to the Red Rocks couple times a week. I will update how they hold up.

"Great shoes, excellent grip, for any occasion, once worn in." 04/29/08

Bought the V-Mile as a replacement for my 5.10 Ascents which I was told was 5.10's intention. They do that well, same grippy rubber, good fit on my wide feet, and are now as comfortable as the Ascents were. The increased breathability has addressed the Ascent's tendency to get sweaty in warm weather. Admitedly they weren't very comfortable to start should any climbing shoe be? but stretched and softened quickly into very comfortable shoes. I like them so much I even bought a spare pair, although considering the give I wish I'd gotten a half size smaller. The comfort and fit means I use these puppies for all types of climbing.

"Great value, stick to the wall like Spiderman" 04/13/08

These shoes were recommended to me by a friend. They are very comfortable and breathable. I've gone climbing many times and they still smell new. Most of all, they are light weight and stick to the wall as well as anything you can ask for.

"Definitely make sure it is comfy before you buy it." 01/14/08

Well made shoe, but despite other reviews this was the most uncomfortable shoae that I have put on my skinny feet. Great rubber though.
