The Five Ten Men's Coyote VCS Canvas Climbing Shoe. With all leather uppers and a Stealth C4 outsole packed into this entry-level priced shoe, the Coyote Lace-Up, like the VCS is sure to meet consumer demand.
My only beef with this shoe is the back rand where it has holes. It makes heel hooking a little less grippy in my opinion. Overall, I really like the shoe. Extremely comfortable.
My previous pair of shoes were La Sportiva's, but I like these much more. Make sure to try some on before purchasing, obviously street shoe size is much different than climbing shoes. Stylish design, very solid rubber, great grip. I bought mine a bit snug initially but they do loosen after a break-in period.
I generally only buy 5.10 shoes due to their excellent grip on slabs and the fact that most of their products are made in the USA. I ordered these in size 12, which has always been the perfect size for me in 5.10 shoes. I couldn't even get my foot into the shoe, I ended going with a 13. They did stretch a little even though they are canvas. In retrospect, I should have went the 12.5s. The sole seemed very then and wore very quickly. This was the first pair of 5.10s that I was not happy with.
I ordered this shoe because of the price, one thing i will say regardless of what other reviews say I would stay true to your street shoe size or up it a half size even. I love saying even at the end of stuff it reminds me of snagglepuss. Exit stage left...EVEN.
These were my first "aggressive" shoes. They have excellent rubber and fit true to size(climbing wise) but they are especially great for rope climbing. They are very comfortable so i never notice them when i climb for hours but when it comes to bouldering i prefer a more agressive shoe. The rubber does last a very LONG time though (5+ months so far)
I bought this shoes, as they are, perhaps the cheapest decent ones from five ten.. so you get world class rubber at your sole, and a confortable, shoe... Order the exact size you wear, they will not get bigger as they are made from canvas... They feel true to size...
